Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:17 - Mar 4 with 7613 views | SomethingBlue | The journalist in question will be onto something with this. It's too late though and doing it now would sum up many elements of the Evans approach perfectly — the hesitancy, the patch and mend, the decent ideas at exactly the wrong times. Not even Colin can get five or six straight wins out of us at this point.

Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:18 - Mar 4 with 7579 views | SouperJim | Surely just the same speculation, I have it on credible authority that Warnock was being considered in January but clearly Evans then decided to stick with what he had. These stories are just continuing that link, but Warnock has said he is retiring at the end of this season and there is zero point in us bringing him in now - our season is over.

Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:18 - Mar 4 with 7556 views | davblue | Nursey usually has his finger on the pulse, I would think there’s something in it. But Warnock goes against the 5 point plan and this goes to show that Evans doesn’t have an overall vision but just goes from case to case.
Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:20 - Mar 4 with 7490 views | haynes_toe1 | Couple months ago, even as late as a month ago, would have potentially been an excellent move. Now it would be even more car-crash from Evans, if that were possible.

Find it rather hard to believe that we were looking at a new manager in Jan when Lambert’s contract extension was only signed on New Years Day Also believe/hope the current link is just lazy journalism, for the reasons Steve_M outlined

Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:24 - Mar 4 with 7378 views | J4ck22 | Surely if he'd be taking over at this point, that would imply that he'd prolong his retirement to manage us? If that is the case then I'd definitely still take him, otherwise no point. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Won't be lazy journalism, not from Nursey. Wish people would be discerning about using a phrase that can damage good people's careers. Whether it happens or not is another matter. [Post edited 4 Mar 2020 13:25]

No, no and for the love of this Club, no! We need a coach, not another firefighter or rabble rouser. There is nothing sustainable in appointing Colin.

Paul Lambert facing the sack with Neil Warnock set ... on 13:36 - Mar 4 with 7093 views | J2BLUE | If this is true it's probably being lined up for when the play offs aren't achievable and Evans can sack him for less money. Warnock's retirement would also likely to be postponed for a season or two.

Prior to the contract extension then, to take over in January. I was told, by someone with playing connections to the club, that former playing staff were consulted with a view to potentially being Warnock's understudy. Dyer's name was mentioned.

It's not exactly building for the future, but surely we'd be better organised and more competent than the current shtshow.

Great, and then we'll be in the same position in 12 months time when the football on show is sh*t and we'll be calling for his head as well. Would just about sum Evans up if this happens.

I’m sure Nursey’s journalism career is now hanging by a thread thanks to the anonymous comments of C_HealyIsAPleasure on TWTD...

Can't believe how long Evans takes to sort it out on 13:53 - Mar 4 with 6756 views | Dyland | i said elsewhere that In any other business a senior project manager overseeing this shambles would be fired immediately for gross incompetence. The impact of failure is heinous for ITFC. And Lambert's failure is not only catastrophic but absolutely his own. Yes, yes, I know Evans is ultimately to blame for the club's malaise, along with external factors. Evans didn't pick that formation last night though did he. And for emphasis... thinking Lambert should have been sacked ages ago and thinking Evans is an unmitigated failure as well are not mutually exclusive positions to take.
