The prospects that Westminster can offer any sort of answer are bleak too. In fact, they’re looking more irrelevant than ever.

What's your policy on accepting British citizens currently living abroad? I'd sooner come back to Scotland than England! I've worn a kilt once, and I fooking love haggis.

Bermuda? I’ve never been. I was offered a job there at the Rescue Coordination Centre. It was tempting.

I imagine there’d be a similar policy to the Irish-UK one for passports. But don’t really see many blocks for Brits looking to emigrate and live there anyway.

Had Haggis for the first time on my recent trip in Scotland. Fookin lovely! Haggis nachos was my favourite and haggis as part of a fry up was pretty nice too.

There's a scenario where both Scotland and Northern Ireland leave the union (in say the next 10 years) That would give a lot of impetus to the Welsh Nats, especially if the Scots left and it was then shown to be a success. Just think how much has changed in UK politics in 5 years...

Am sure that would be one of the drivers for independence. Whether the EU (With Spain not wanting to encourage separatism) would welcome them, who knows?

Can't we give the Brexiteers Kent? They'll be the other side of the border then. There's a joke about them being Kents in there somewhere as well.

I was there between the ages of 5 and 10. Ridiculously good place to grow up although since I’ve been back I can see how adults get rock fever. If ever the offer comes up again, I’d say it’s worth trying for a year or two.

You assume that the EU would welcome an Independent Scotland. I can't see Spain (with the Catalans and Basque's pushing for Independence) being keen on the idea tbh.

Not the same issue as before. The Catalan issue is about getting independence within the EU.

There'd be a lot to sort out around meeting the eligibility criteria too I suspect. It's definitely doable though. I look to countries like Slovenia as the model. They only have 2 million population, weren't recognised as an independent state until 1992, had to transition from being part of the Yugoslavian communist state, and still became a full member of the EU by 2004. Scotland would have a jump start on nations like that I'd have thought. I suspect the biggest challenge would be the divorce. Not that I know anything about it, but since when has that mattered on here!

Flat No on all points. England always says they prop up the rest of the UK anyway so we’re already doing you a favour.

I suspect every other country would welcome an Independent Scotland with open arms. But the Spanish view is definitely an issue imho. And I think I am right in saying they would have a veto (unless new members are decided by majority voting)
