Out of contract at the end of the season, what do you think?

Better than we have?
Past it?
Still well capable?

Poll: Who would you want as Ipswich manager in November. there aren't many candidates

I haven't seen him play but I can't believe he isn't a level up (or more) than what we have.

SO having said that, there is no chance he comes back untill we get promoted.......

Would love that.

Wages would be the issue perhaps but not sure how attractive he is as a Champ player after Derby. And we’ve got about 15 players too many in our squad so wages clearly aren’t an immediate problem.

I'd potentially take him but wages might scupper that and hitting 32 we would need to be careful.

He had a life-changing move to Derby in terms of the contract he was awarded. Now he will have to be realistic about his next move and Ipswich could be tempting, especially as a Championship club but even if we are not promoted and we can 'sell' the idea that we are ambitious rather than just going through the motions, which, let's face it, has been the story for most of the Evans regime. Also, he made a lot of friends in Suffolk and enjoyed the lifestyle, which has to be a consideration ahead of going into the unknown elsewhere.

There are still restrictions on how much you can spend on player and coaching wages (non-Academy), in proportion to turnover. It used to be 105%, but may have changed.

Yes of course; if my memory serves me correctly that is to do with FFP rather than the cap that the EFL stupidly tried to initiate...

Could be a great signing, but I reckon a few Championship clubs will be interested & offer him a better deal than Town can afford. Maybe Mick will sign him for Cardiff?

I'd offer him as much as we could in wages/bonus to get him back here, I'd also try and bring Garner back and between those two and Norwood you have 3 striking options good enough for this division. If you offloaded Jackson, Hawkins and Drinnan we could afford it surely?

We'll sign a League of Ireland player, and someone from the Scottish 4th division though. They will turn out to be duds of spend their time injured before release.

Would be a great signing , however unless we somehow manage to sneak promotion then it’s not going to happen , to good for league 1
