Kylian Mbappe 21:39 - Jun 15 with 1819 views | tractordownsouth | At what point does he overtake Messi and Ronaldo?I think he’s almost there. He averages a goal a game for PSG (granted in a weaker league) but if he carries France to the Euros title like he carried them to the World Cup does he then overtake them now they’re both reaching the end of their careers. I’ve never normally one to hype up a player but his pace and technique are frighteningly good.

Kylian Mbappe on 21:43 - Jun 15 with 1772 views | StokieBlue | He'd be better if he held his runs. Two goals disallowed because he was offside which is stupid given he could give the Germans a 5m headstart and still get there first. SB
Kylian Mbappe on 21:46 - Jun 15 with 1753 views | Nthsuffolkblue | It is quite notable that, despite all their dominance, France are only 1-0 up. I think they are clearly the best team in the tournament with some really top players but Germany could still snatch a result at the end here.

Kylian Mbappe on 21:46 - Jun 15 with 1748 views | davblue | I personally don’t think he will get to their career peak levels. But he needs to play in a better league before he can be talked about at their level.

Ronaldo and Messi’s numbers in 2011-15 were incredible - 50 odd league goals a season. Mbappe is doing a goal a game - it’s a weaker league but Messi or Ronaldo weren’t doing that at the same age. It’s a big ask for him to hit the same as the Messi/Ronaldo peak but you could definitely argue that his current ability is on a par with theirs.

Kylian Mbappe on 21:53 - Jun 15 with 1703 views | Metal_Hacker | Don’t get my wrong he’s quality but I think he’s still a way off both maestros as yet Prove himself not playing Sunday league and I’ll agree

Kylian Mbappe on 21:57 - Jun 15 with 1670 views | RadioOrwell | He's nowhere near them at the same age. LM and CR were way ahead at 22.
Kylian Mbappe on 22:09 - Jun 15 with 1610 views | Swansea_Blue | He'd probably overtake them both after about 5 metres

Kylian Mbappe on 22:33 - Jun 15 with 1539 views | N2_Blue | He's excellent but he's some way off them yet in terms of their peak, but on current level he is probably on a par but that's only because of Messi/Ronaldo's age! He still loses the ball way to much i think and despite his goals record in the last season wouldn't say he is anywhere near as clinical and ruthless as Messi/Ronaldo are. But certainly has the ability to be at their peak level in the coming seasons, whether he will or not is a different matter as they are probably once in 25-50 years kind of footballer, and we have 2 of them at the same time! Agree with this. He's clearly a top talent but he's no where near the levels theyve set.

Kylian Mbappe on 11:13 - Jun 16 with 1057 views | BlueBlood90 | He's brilliant but he's no where near as good as either of them in my opinion. I don't think the quality of football is as good in this current era as when Ronaldo and Messi first came through at young ages either. Compare the defenders the other two had to play against to nowadays and there's probably only 4-5 very good central defenders in world football. France's team is superb all over the pitch and would probably win it even without Mbappe too.

Kylian Mbappe on 11:19 - Jun 16 with 1039 views | brazil1982 | Overtake in what way? Goals scored, possibly. As for overall contribution and skill, he doesn't touch Messi and Ronaldo on control, passing accuracy, free kick taking, dribbling, leadership, consistency. There is still time of course but he is a long way off these greats. Plus his dominant foot is right - Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona all left

Ronaldo really wasn't. It was not until his last season and a half at Man U that his world class potential started to really show itself. Up until that point Rooney was the better prospect.
Kylian Mbappe on 11:25 - Jun 16 with 1008 views | clive_baker | When you say overtake, do you mean who is the better player right now? If it was a one off game on Saturday and I could add 1 of those 3 to the England side, it would still be Messi for me. Mbappe is a delight though, there's no doubt about that. He's frighteningly quick and he can finish, he'll continue to score a lot of goals over the next 6 or 7 years. I would be surprised if he has the longevity that CR or LM have shown though, purely due to the nature of his game. In terms of overtaking their achievements, I would be surprised if he ever does over his career.

Ronaldo isn't left footed!

Kylian Mbappe on 11:44 - Jun 16 with 924 views | tractorboy1978 | You are talking about two of the best players that have ever played the game. Two players that have been truly elite for 15 years and still at the very top aged nearly 35 and 36. Mbappe is not and never will be in the same ball park - he's an overhyped Michael Owen.
Kylian Mbappe on 11:51 - Jun 16 with 894 views | tractordownsouth | Just to clarify I don’t think he’s at the level of peak Messi and Ronaldo and I doubt he ever will be. Was debating whether he’s a better player currently than the other two.

Kylian Mbappe on 13:41 - Jun 16 with 751 views | StokieBlue | Totally different type of player to the 3 being compared in this thread but just saw this and it's great. It's like when the really good kid plays in the playground making everyone look a bit rubbish although this is against a quality Portugal team: SB
