Confirmed by VAR. Football is fooked.

Not sure on what basis that was a red. As in the reason under the laws of the game.

Yeah, that wasn't a red. But, overall, the refereeing at this tournament has been the best I can remember.

I think a rule change to the offside rule would be beneficial to the game. Daylight between them for it to count.

The Welsh one? Yeah, a yellow 99.9999% of the time. He’s overrated though; bloke seems to think he’s a star but I’ve seen Nolan play better.

Wales have fallen apart. Lol, nearly 4.

They’ve been shocking.

Too inconsistent for me. They’ve let a lot go but then given refs for things that would normally be yellows at worse.

It has been good to see things flow more than usual though.

Lots of sentiment about how amazing Denmark have been but for me Wales have been dire. Absolutely shocking.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Assuming it was because the ref thought it would be funny to make Robbie Savage cry more than he already was. In which case fair decision.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

On first viewing I thought he was going to get a red. The way he came flying over from way off and made o attempt to get the ball looked like there was a good chance he'd go to me.

The close ups didnt look so bad. So I dunno all in all.

It was so far off the ball it was worse than just a late challenge.

Would not normally see a red card for it but can see why it was given.

Think the challenge from behind as Cornelius wriggled through on goal was more of a shout for a red card but, again, a yellow was more likely then as well.

He's made contact from behind whilst nowhere near the ball.

I can see why it was given.

It felt to me like the ref basically telling Wales "You guys are losing your heads, I'm not going to have you guys potentially injure the Danish players before the next round with cynical tackles like this".

I can see why the ref gave it, but I'm not sure it's a red in the rules of the game.

All about timing innit. It’s hard to know the score these days when it can take 2 minutes to know whether something you saw actually happened.

Taking away that instantaneous joy of celebrating a goal because someone had to spend an age reviewing replays first kills a very special part of the game for me. That’s a massive downside of VAR. I want the right decisions, but I’m starting to wonder if the cost is too high (yes I know, I’m late to the party as usual lol)

Agree with this 100%, one of the best feelings in life is when you go mental because your team has just scored a goal, shouting, hugging strangers, dancing, euphoria.

If you have to wait 2/3 minutes for it to be confirmed then that has gone, that emotion, that feeling, the power of the game goes with it. If you're watching on TV then I guess the impact is lessened with 20,000 replays, but live? Kills it.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Brilliant decision. Take context into account and it's a petulant kick out at an opponent with no attempt or intention to touch the ball. Red is a great decision.

I also really really enjoyed how surprised he was when he saw the colour of the card. Serves you right.

I haven't watch a premiership match or any match until these Euros that had VAR involved, I detest it!!

And after the Italy v Austria game my attitude to it has not changed, it is not needed in the game, you take human error out of the game we may as well watch robots!!

The standard of referring in our league is abysmal but I'll take it any day over VAR and the delay it causes, keep in American football it has no place in our Football!!

It's called 'taking one for the team' and I've never seen one given a red card before. Laws of the game says a red needs there to be either serious foul play or violent conduct, and it was neither.

It was utterly needless and totally petulant. I think it was red in substance but yellow by law.

As clear and pbvious a yellow as you will ever see. Disgraceful that it was not altered by VAR. But then the 2nd goal was patently wrong as well.
