Going to see how this ages but

I think he's going to be our best signing in terms of influence on the team

The fact there are about 10 live contenders in this competition says everything you need to know about the season ahead.

For comparison, our best signing last summer was Bennetts

On impact on the season, it was probably Stephen Ward.

Someone posted a few months back that he was coming back on loan!

Care to explain why? I’d argue there are plenty ahead of him depending on what you mean by, “influence on the team”.

Got family who are Boro fans us mates, all rave about him

Not just driven when going forward but very pacey, powerful and skillful, think he will stretch teams to give space to those in the middle

My mate is a Boro season ticket holder, says the same, although he is still very raw.

Coulson, that is, not my mate.

Coulson and Edwards combining down the left and KVY and Burns on the right could make for plenty of chances for who ever is playing up top!

Not sure a loan can be our best signing. But a decent addition nonetheless.

Harper. And i don’t even think it’ll be close.

He’s going to be the best player I’ve seen in a town shirt. I’ve high expectations.

And yes I am aware we’ve only seen him play one game.

My main takeaway from Saturday is that the full backs are going to be so key to us this season, so I think I agree.

Our wingers played really narrow for most of the game and KVY/Penney provided the width - with Evans distribution a lot of chances are going to come from these wide defenders (and if not our stacked front four centrally can take advantage of the space if defenders go out to the full backs).

I couldn't choose between Harper and Evans for our MOTM on Saturday. Both looked very good, and I think they complement each other well, too.

Fair enough but after Saturday, I’ll stick with my original thought which is either Pigott or Evans, especially after Evans quarterback-esq display.

But at the time, Bennetts was definitely considered the best. Wouldn't even make our bench now.

I hope so. It would be great to have two effective full backs on either flank. I found his interview a little underwhelming though, I didn't get the impressions he was overly happy to be here, but that could just be his personality.

I was going to make exactly this point, but no point repeating it.

Based on Saturday our full backs will be critical ti our success this season.

He's a young lad from Boro, not a polished telly star, don't think there was much to read into that interview at all.

Yes, that’s true and that’s why I mentioned about his personality. However, to me there was a big difference to his demeanour and the way he spoke compared to Barry. Just an observation, but if he plays well for us, that’s all I’m worried about.

Don't be so quick to dismiss the rumour. They'll need to quickly ramp up the numbers of bar staff now that FPR will be open fully again!

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
