Give over. If you thought promotion was still possible with Cook then it's still possible with a new setup. There won't be a vast amount of change, most of our backroom staff were put in place by Ashton, it's only Cook and his coaches that will go as is the same with most sackings. |  | | |

I understand Cook hasn’t performed well. I get that. What I detest is the vindictiveness shown by so many fans on here towards a basically honest guy, who has tried his best and put the work in. His past record isn’t shabby, but it just hasn’t happened for him here, yet he’s been spoken about like he’s a piece of S hyte on here. It’s shameful.
I fully accept it wasn’t good enough , and after today I was almost expecting his sacking. But they way people attack him is disgraceful. Sorry but that’s just how I see it. | |

You're being a bit unfair here. That's not necessary. No one has got what they want. Those who wanted Cook gone want us to be successful and we were failing badly.
Promotion is as likely with a new man as it was with Cook, and I'd personally say more likely as the new man could bring a boost. Cook was taking us nowhere and we had no form whatsover!

He’s failed to get a group together who plays as a group and leaves everything out on the pitch. I’ve not been vocal in calling for him to be sacked, but I thoroughly understand why he has been. He was obviously much closer than I realised too, which helps explain the abject performances recently (it’s been obvious it’s not a happy camp).

I understand why a change is being made because we have eager owners and it’s a results-based business. But the personal vitriol has been horrendous, as it was for Lambert, as it was for Hurst, as it was, for Jewell. As it was for Keane. And even, eventually, as it was for McCarthy, whose years of service deserved much better and whose “Be careful what you wish for “ comment has certainly been vindicated,

I think it’s more about confidence and organisation, rather than style. I reckon we’re a defender short of having a good defence. The squad is strong — we’ve seen enough from individuals in spurts.
