At least he should break Jimmy Greaves' Spurs goals record next season. He needs 23 to move ahead of him. 2022/23 should see him become the record goal-scorer for both England and Tottenham.

Depends on what you think vile madness is. Some Movie stars, F1 drivers, golfers etc earn more than that. Saying that if he is on 500k pw then there will be a few agents knocking on the Man City’s CEOs door asking for new contracts for their clients.

Just imagine being Harry Kane and going to England training and there’s all those relatively inferior Champions League winners and PL winners like Henderson and Kyle Walker and he went on loan to Norwich once.

Erling Haaland on 23:27 - May 9 with 2500 views | rickw | £63m to Dortmund - more than that in agents fees the rumoured fees were 50m to Raiola's company and 50m to his Dad, I'm sure Erling Haaland will get something too...

Erling Haaland on 23:58 - May 9 with 2456 views | itfcsuth | £63M to Dortmund in one sum £17M to Raoila Sports £17M to Alfe Haaland £25M per year salary x5 (£400,000 a week) It’s not an absolute bargain when you look at them figures. It looks like an investment of £200M+. I wonder what Phil Foden is thinking. Likewise one of the brightest talents in world football, and he’s on £150,000 a week in comparison. I wonder how long until his representatives are knocking on the door. [Post edited 9 May 2022 23:59]

Erling Haaland on 12:42 - May 10 with 2114 views | monty_radio | His stats are impressive so far, better than Messi at same age. I've just watched all of his 60+ goals strung together on Sky website. He's certainly got that unstoppable feel to him though there's a certain sameness about nearly all the goals - finding space in and around the area and being fed intelligently, then usually taking quick aim and lashing it in. Against certain Prem teams he'd have a field day what with City's ability to find a pass, but against tighter defences than the Bundesliga generally seem able to provide it will be interesting to see how he makes out. He'll monster a few, but it'll be interesting to see if his showcase also provides some subtler touches too as he progresses - not that City fans will worry too much about that.

They’ll sell him to Madrid PSG or Barca for at least half that amount at some point. Being in the CL consistently over those five years will pay for him on its own more or less.

The curious thing is why Dortmund waited for his release clause to be active, rather than negotiating a price last year.

The saddest part is,that Man City will just get stronger. Eventually I think Liverpool will fall away, leaving Chelsea (if they get funding) and Newcastle to fight for all the trophies for the next ten years.

It's a great question, one I certainly don't know the answer to. The release clause certainly looks like a blunder given todays market of price tags. Romelu Lukaku went for near £100M last year. God knows what Haaland would have gone for if the release clause wasn't in play.

I think it was just a case of other clubs holding off for a year until the clause became active, rather than Dortmund rejecting offers.

I suppose it's a question of the relative bargaining positions of the sides when the contract was agreed back in 2020. Dortmund would have been extremely keen to sign Haaland and, at the same time, he would have been keen to protect himself going forward as well. The £51m release clause probably worked in two ways for him: 1) Dortmund wouldn't be able to hinder Haaland's progress to a bigger club by demanding a stupidly high fee 2) Dortmund could always have offered a renewed contract on significantly better terms if they wanted to remove/amend the release clause It does seem to be the way of German football, though - for some reason their big players never tend to cost the astronomical sums of money that would be paid for players from other top European leagues.

The £34m of intermediary fees is absolutely obscene. Taking away the argument of precisely who should be paying a player's agent, I can sort of see the justification for Raiola's firm receiving a payment from the transaction. The payment to Haaland's dad though? What's that for? And what happens if City just say 'no, we're not paying you', assuming that Haaland is keen as mustard to sign for them? Do his agent and dad just grab him by the wrists and prevent him from signing a contact?

Intermediary fees = dad. They've been setting this up for years.

According to a good many posters on here Kane is no good because he hasn't won anything, so you would be wrong, and Harry would doff his cap to Henderson and Walker because they are better players than him.
