With the ambition we have I'd have been amazed if we hadn't enquired - assuming this guy is a reputable source close to the club. Hard to know. He could be given his bio. But Dons fans might say the same about Cruncher at first glance. But even if it's a wind up then, as I say, I can't imagine he's not someone we've looked at or enquired about.
The difficulty of course is we can double his wage, but so can other Championship clubs, so it will really come down to Ashton selling Twine the dream. He's been awesome in League One in consecutive seasons. Does he want at least a third when he's likely a Premier League player one day?
We've got to be looking at about £3m plus serious add ons which I don't think will worry Gamechanger and show we are serious. But would still say we've got a 20% chance at best against the mid-table Championship clubs that can offer the one thing we can't. [Post edited 8 Jun 2022 13:28]
