Many, I know.
However, one thing I cannot get my head round is when the Mrs saves half burnt out batteries - or in fact saves batteries that she is unsure if they are burnt out or new.
This obviously only spells disaster and when you try and find a triple A you realise that its fecked. You can go through a box of them but to no avail.
My rule is that unless it is still in some kind of cardboard sleeve then it gets thrown.
Mother is worse, she has an A2 jiffy bag full of batteries that are completely useless. |  |

It's called recycling. Take them to a collection point in the local supermarket. They shouldn't go in the black bin anyway.

A couple of weeks ago I had a mechanic due to come to my workplace to do a day's work on a van. Now then, I knew he would be early and I have living accommodation at work and I was staying over - so I told him to ring the bell because I'm not an early riser.
Because I am a very prepared individual I swapped the batteries in my bell bleeper thing with some "new" batteries from home because I knew the old ones had been in there for a while and I didn't want to take a chance - it has taken me 6 months for this bloody mechanic to agree on a date.

Ok, but harsh, that wasn’t her fault. Three things annoy.
Firstly, if there is a programme she wants to watch like that pitiable rubbish Call The f’ing Midwife, silence has to reign. Anything I’m watching, she’ll talk right through it.
Secondly, hearing all about her day. When we were both working particularly I’d here all about it replayed in full glorious technicolour. I know teaching is tough but why relive it? Personally once my work day was done, the last thing I wanted to do was go through it again with anyone, least of all me.
Lastly, she’s into crafts and stuff. All good, but my space in this house is getting diminished to the acreage of Harry Potter’s cupboard. She has single handed kept the Chinese economy afloat. A swear the Ark of the Covenant is lost somewhere in her craft room. [Post edited 20 Jul 2022 7:25]
