Not looking good if this lot are out or even under par. Anyone heard about how bad some of these injuries might be?

My Fingers are firmly crossed. I don’t want us to get these injuries so early in the season, but despite the strength of our squad it shows how quickly things can change if a lot of key players all get injured at once. We never seem to do “ quick, simple “ injuries ie out for 1 game, do we!

Should be fine, though the difference is a lack of 'game changers' from the bench. We might bring in someone to help on that score, though.

I thought Davis took a belt in the league game and was taken because of it. I think Burns had been carrying an injury ( groin?) for a couple of weeks now, and Chaplin similarly but out for a while now. Aluko, poor sod, looks like a while for him. Ball, dead leg, yip. Not a starter anyway but likely to miss a couple of games I’d have thought .

He's the most significant one for me if out for a long time.

There's a weird undercurrent of a few on here REALLY [edit] appearing that they hope[edit ends] for us to fail this season.

Is it just some kind of strange Stockholm syndrome and pining for previous failed managers or just the effects of nearly 20 years' worth of undiluted medicocrity?

We've had a really high level of player availability since the Performance Department got bedded in.

The Chaplin out for 2 months rumour has been scotched on Twitter now with the person who initially started it saying it was a hoax. McKenna has also been quite transparent in his prematch press statement about the state of the squad so I'm sure you'll get an answer tomorrow.

Thankfully we know we have a strong squad and not just a strong 1st eleven, so we won’t be hit as hard as we would have in the past. We simply cannot cover for every eventuality but of those named only 2 are regular starters. I hope none of them have significant injuries, but if they do the worst case is that it limits the ability to rotate or Ch age things up as much in the course of a match.

The upside is, of course, that it perhaps it gives squad and maybe game time to the likes of Humphries.

We have only beaten them once on their home ground since time began (32 billion years or about 6000 years depending on your view of these things, either way it's a long time in which to get one win)
