Changed the game.

Professional performance.

Fair play Chaplin. I've often criticised his passing, but he was bang on it when he came on.

Wrong team selection made hard work of beating a very very poor Accrington side.
Great final result but don’t get carried away. A few more performances like that and we will soon be turned over. Well done Chaplin as he saved our embarrassment.

What are you talking about? That was a very professional performance, a 2-0 away win and fairly comfortable. Do you want a stick with your moon?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I'll defend this in part and say Ladapo looked a better fit than Jackson for the battle when he came on, and did a nice assist for chaplins second. But we won the game so wouldnt say it was wrong as such

Accrington aren't a poor side by any stretch, in fact that's there 1st defeat of the season.

Nah, think they tried to go man for man and stop us playing.. That would have happened, whatever our the starting 11 were..
They ran out of steam. Our subs crushed them.
McKenna doing what McKenna does. Perfect plan, that came off nicely.

Wow, and I thought I was a pessimist...

We're not going to walk every game. We're not going to steam role every team 5-0 as much as we'd love to. Sometimes we'll have to go toe to toe and push right to the end for the all important goal/s.

Quite, its very hard to compare performance A vs. performance B at such different periods of the game and against tired, stretched defences. Ladapo was allowed far more room and while I'm no Jackson superfan they had different remits today and were facing a different defensive proposition. Fact is we won, enjoy it.

Chaplin is so sharp. He makes himself a yard of space in tight situations, then gets his body over the ball well and gets his shots away. Harness is quite similar.

I absolutely love watching him play. We’re incredibly fortunate to have him.

Exactly! First defeat and a consistent performer in this league over the last few years. There really are some posters on here who seem to struggle to understand football.

I think our starting forwards have often looked like they've struggled a bit compared with those who have replaced them. I think that's just how we try to play and how teams try to shut us down. The starting 3 tend to grind defences down, pressing them high and forcing them to track our forwards into space. That just meanst that those who come on with fresh legs are already facing a defence who is tiring.

This really was a fantastic away win. Stanley started very well, like you say, undefeated going into this.

Ladapo got us playing further up the pitch because he held the ball up. We were not therefore reliant on a perfect exchange of passes, or a glory pass into the final third.

Agree.. But I also think the patterns of play change slightly , too, with the changes we make... So, an opposing defender, that has been set playing a certain way, repetitively for 60 minutes. Suddenly has to reset .against a different type of forward. Which may take five or ten minutes. And leaves them vulnerable. Especially, as you rightly say, as they are tiring, too..
For me, there is a bit more of a purpose to our subs. Not just fresh legs..
