Cambridge (5th)
Bristol Rovers (16th)
Sheffield Weds (4th)
Plymouth (3rd)
Pompey (2nd)

Let's see where we are 1st October.

All 4 Cambridge wins have come at home. We need to be taking 6 points from the next 2. Then 5-6 from the following 3 would be decent.

Truly impaired.

It’s all tough isn’t it.

Starting with Cambridge’s cup final next week.

Not quite season defining - but not far off it. Imagine if we win 2 of those last three game. Or simply don’t lose against them! You know what, I’m actually looking forward to them - I think we could do it!

The way the season has started and if we can win the next two home games, I am hoping SW, Portsmouth and Plymouth will be more worried about us than visa versa.

Playing those teams (away) could be perfect for us. Their fans will expect them to come at us, leaving space.

Think we’ll get 4 points from Plymouth and sheff weds

I think that's the very upper limit of realistic though, i wouldn't be disappointed with 2 wins and 3 draws, and would probably take that if offered now.

We should be looking to take 15, which sounds daft cocky - but the only game so far this season where we've looked (perhaps) second best was Burton, and we beat them... we're going into games with a set plan for each opponent, and the 5 subs ruling is a huge asset to us, with the depth we now have. Ball, Chaplin and Ladapo coming off the bench is remarkable.

Wednesday have a nuts squad, but a manager who doesn't seem to know what to do with them all (sound familiar?), and there's no reason why we can't win all the home games.

I can see Plymouth being the hardest game of the lot; they play pretty good football, and for some reason we never turn up on Sky.

As pointed out by Texters above, 10 would be a pretty good return, but fck it, we can win them all.

I agree. Last season finished with ridiculous runs of form from most of the top teams. We need to be looking to win every match (but also being wise to game situations and sometimes settling for a point if the situation dictates it). We won't win every game, but no match should fill us with fear. Just as no match will be a walk in the park (we seem to have learnt that too and be respecting the "little" opponents and the threats they pose).

13 Points

4 wins and draw

We are starting to gain momentum now with many players hitting form with a good defence and outstanding goal keeper.

Shame Alike is out however

Don’t see the worry. Let those teams worry about us. I think all of them are winnable. I’m confident.

Next two we should be looking at 6 pts. But I think Cambridge will make it difficult. And we might see some rotation in the Rovers game, with the 3 big games on the horizon. So I'm thinking two ,tight ,home wins there...
Wednesday away is hard to call. Be nice to put some daylight between us in the table. But I can see it going either way.
Think we'll beat Plymouth away and tear Pompey apart at Portman Road. They won't know what's hit them, similar to MK Dons game.
Pompey have had a surprisingly good start to the season. But in a few weeks time, we'll remind them who the Guvnor's are in this league...
There's a Pizza Cup match sandwiched between the Wednesday and Argyle games. Can see us putting out a very scratchy side for that one, given the league fixtures.
12pts from those games.... But I'd take 10pts... Really want us to start beating the top 6 sides though.

I’m sure Kieran McKenna is just looking at one game at a time. Planning and preparing to beat Cambridge will be his focus and if we do that, that’s another improvement on last season. Then he will focus on Bristol Rovers.

I get that we all like to look longer term but I’m inclined to follow McKenna’s approach and just look at getting 3 points from the next match

Posted something similar below but it would have been better in your thread — think we'll have at least one disappointment among that lot, it's only natural, but if we win the next two at home we should have a bit of a cushion to absorb it. Either way, we'll be more than 25% of the way through the season so post-Pompey we'll have a very good inkling of how it's going.

I agree, we will have a real sense of where we are in this division.

On the premise of two points a game...

After those fixtures we will have played 12 matches, so 7 or more points from the five games will keep us on track for 92.
