Pompey (H) - overnight accommodation 17:33 - Sep 13 with 1493 viewsitfc_bucks

No, I'm not looking to crash over with any of you lot.

My daughter is desperate to see ITFC women, so I'm doubling up the weekend the chaps are playing Portsmouth and planning to stay somewhere overnight without paying a small ransom.

Does anyone have any suggestions of places which may be suitably cheap and cheerful, yet not flea infested grot-holes.

Bonus points on offer for either buffet breakfast or any answer involving Gatwick.

Always stop in the Penta, very close to PR, Cheap & actually very good for the price.

Will be staying there that night as well.

Not sure if the location works, if you wanted beers and walking distance from Ipswich it wouldn't, but if you don't mind being out of town the Sorrel Horse might be worth a look in Barham. Sod all around it but a nice old pub, twin rooms for <£80 including breakfast. Food there is decent as well. You would be near the A14 for getting to Felixstowe on Sunday.

Impressive that you managed to take a selfie whilst asleep - but do you have any recommendations for overstay stays in or around Ipswich?

Doesn't look like there is a lot of room for anyone to join you there, Facters.

I have stayed in Mermaid, v close to PR

Surprisingly affordable and kind of ok in a corporate laminated menu kind of way

Like Premier Inn, but without having to share a room with Lenny

Portsmouth itself is not a fantastic destination, so I would stay a bit further afield. Lots of coastal resorts to choose from, out of season, you may even be able to find something on Travelzoo or even Groupon that gives you a spa hotel for Premier Inn prices.

Bognor Regis is 35 minutes East.

Lymington, coastal end of the New Forest, an hour west.

Just saying what I would do.

Don't be ridiculous. I don't use a stick.

Or a zimmer frame. Or any other sort of mobility or disability aid.

That's the one for me. Perfect, thank you.

A bit out the way but I used to stay at Upper Manor House in Southsea when working at HMS Portsmouth, nice place with a good breakfast

Edit: Just realised you were after suggestions for the home game 🤦‍♀️
