The response from the RSPB and other wildlife and conservation organisations has been quite something hasn’t it? It must be unprecedented for a number of them to speak out so strongly at the same time.
Their worst fears haven’t come to pass yet, but we now know enough to see exactly where this government is taking us. A lot of us did mention this during the Brexit negotiations fiasco, but were told by a few that it was just scare mongering and that regulations wouldn’t inevitably be weakened by leaving the EU (there was some nonsense about us being able to raise standards after leaving, lol as if that was ever the plan).
It’s depressingly predictable. Anyone who enjoys the outdoors and our wildlife (whats left of it) should be fighting back. Join a conservation group or donate if you can. Certainly sign their various petitions if money’s tight, just so these b@stards know we care even if they don’t. | |
