Ben Wallace, Secretary of State for Defence. Initiated the response over Ukraine, got the British Military top brass on board and singing from the same hymn sheet on it.
And then, critically, TWICE has said, in response to clamour that he should stand as a leadership candidate and exploit his achievements:
"FFS! Don't you know there's a war on? Please just leave me the fck alone to do my job!"
And that's it for me.
There was that bloke having a breakdown in the Commons Lobby the other night who sounded like he cared about the total shtshow because of how it was damaging the country, but then his mask slipped at the end and he blubbed "And us poor Backbenchers are going to lose our jobs!" So not him.
Any others?

He did a good job hosting CoP26 and his recommendation for KIng Charles to change his position against the pressure from Liz Truss (I know, we will have to wait seventy five years for the papers to be published that would show my assertion to be true) and attend CoP27 was welcome.
We do have to set his equivocating position on Heathrow expnansion against these good points though.
Roger Gale. He's been very consistently anti-Johnson and has pledged to leave the party if he becomes leader again. Given that this would essentially end his career, that's a principled stance to take.
And his description of the over-promoted David Frost is very funny.

Also supports Johnson, so blotted his copybook there like Wallace

Charles Walker
As Arnie said Walker's concern is for the "jobs" of those backbench MPs expected to be wiped out at the next GE; nothing more, nothing less. He is yet another example of one of the things that is wrong with politics in the UK atm.

Yes. Absolutely fair enough. He did a very good job, in impossible circumstances. There will always be some equivocation from a Cabinet Minister, I suppose, because of Collective Responsibility.

Christian Wakeford
I didn't know who he was so I looked him up on Wikipedia, this is interesting:
'Shortly after his defection, allegations were made of blackmail and bullying by Conservative Party whips. Wakeford said in an interview that he had experienced this behaviour when he was previously threatened with the loss of funding for a local school if he did not vote with Government on a motion regarding free school meals. He said: "I was threatened that I would not get a school for Radcliffe if I did not vote in one particular way. This is a town that has not had a high school for the best part of 10 years. How would you feel when they hold back the regeneration of a town for a vote. It didn't sit comfortably. That was the start of me questioning my place, where I was and ultimately to where I am now."
Later that week, Wakeford accused Gavin Williamson, the then education secretary, of being the person behind this.'
Talk about looking for crumbs. I think they should all have their rear ends kicked right out of the door. They’re just there to save their own skins and fill their boots while they can. The idea of any of them doing anything for 99% of this country’s people other than rob them is laughable.
I would have also said Ben Wallace until I read that he is likely to support idle airmiles Johnson.

He may agree with this though…

Findng good one is impossible. Yes it was primarily an inward looking outburst (if you can outburst inwards....) but he did call out fellow Tories for voting for their own ministerial careers above the national interests

Any tory MPs rising from the norm would still only be at the level where they stick to the bottom of you shoe. They are all venal enablers of the most corrupt incompetent self serving snout-in-the-trough government this country is ever likely to see.
If any of them had even a shred of decency they would cross the floor.
Michael Gove called out Truss and her sycophant loons at the Tory conference which brought him up from a very ow and greasy bar in my estimation. Strangely Nadine Dories for calling for an election when Kwarteng and Truss were steaming fuol steam ahead for the rocks

Charles Walker
His concern is for the party. He didn't say the word country once. It took him two minutes, after mentioning the party repeatedly, to mention the "national interest" which i'm sure if the national interest through the Tory ideology.
Can't believe anyone watches that and thinks his concern is for the country.
