We were literally an inch away from two goals and Hump should have scored and I think Chaplin should have had one too. We were mostly dominant and created chance after chance.
Need to be more clinical and luck wasn't with us today. Yes, it's another lead thrown away, but it's a keeper error.

I think Walton himself would be very disappointed to concede that goal tbh. Not saying he was the only one culpable, but nevertheless he would expect to make the save. |  |

It was certainly an error by Walton on first viewing.
But even so we were more undone by our inability to score 2 or 3 more goals. Cheltenham deserve massive credit for how they blocked pretty much anything on target but that needed a lot of luck too and we should have made at least a couple more chances stick.
Should have been 3-0 or 4-1. Maybe more if Cheltenham really had to come forward to try and salvage a point.

Not a “howler” but Walton definitely at fault. That said, the game shouldn’t end in a draw just because of that and he’s bailed us out plenty of times to deserve his No 1 status : especially given limited back up options. Had the Harness effort gone in the floodgates might have opened. Exeter will be a proper test of where we’re at, especially from a character standpoint. Just gutting that we probably should be clear at the top rather than clinging on to 2nd. Even with average luck we’d have won at Weds, beaten Barnsley and Cheltenham and got at least a draw v Lincoln. | | | |

Whether you look at stats or more subjective factors, our conversion of chances yesterday was shocking, and our prevention of goals from their shots on target was shocking. Those are the two most important elements of ‘playing’.
Why are those elements so blindly ignored when this commonplace opinion of ‘we played well but...’ gets trotted out?
Davis must wonder what kind of club he’s joined when he can put so many chances on a plate and see them spurned so inexplicably, ending with a home draw against Cheltenham. |  | | |

There was a keeper error ,for sure. But I'm not putting that result down to that one blip from Walton... We should have scored 3 or 4 of our chances. .. Harness, Humphreys, Ladapo, Davis, Woolfy, Chaplin, Camara all with presentable chances.. I'd say. collectively, we weren't at our best.. Midfield giving away possession cheaply at times, too.
We still created loads. I enjoyed the match, if not the result. Another day it's 4-1, 5-1...
For me, we should have gotten 2 or 3 up before their goal. Letting them stay in the game was, really, what kept their spirits up. Compounded by the equaliser, which gave them something to defend. And that's exactly what they did, throwing bodies on the line and riding their luck.. (And rolling around a bit at times. but if we get ahead, they can't do that.) |  | | |

I you’re right, it shouldn’t. Waltons mistake. BUT, it was a pretty ferocious shot and it’s reasonable for him to have been expecting a cross so was probably not balanced.
We’re a decent team. But still not good enough for us to be totally confident about top two come May. Potential in there - a couple of additions are probably all we need.
On the plus side - Humphries is now likely to get a run in the side. Great stuff. Plus we have camera coming to fitness, as well as Aluko and Leigh we’ll on the way back. |  |
