What do we do with Joe? Had a good start and felt like it would have been a good move for all parties had Colby Bishops move to Blackpool not broken down and Pompy swooped. It's doing him no good there now at all.

Doesn't look like he has a future with us. Try to sell but I think that ship has sailed with his record now and wages. Tricky one for him. Unless anyone will match Pompy contribution he's stuck. He's a good L1 player.

Personally, I think Pompey was the wrong move for Joe as he won’t get enough starts or minutes there so he’s in the same position as he was with us. Instead, he should have been loaned to a lower-half Lg1 side where he could have got more game time and possibly be sold to if it all worked out well.

I don’t think he has a future at Town.

Get rid. He's another Sam Parkin...came with a good reputation, built on a single season...but in reality couldn't trap a bag of cement and needs an OS map to find the goal. Not impressed.

Yeah, but if you weren't sitting on the fence, how would you describe his contribution?

I think that's the problem.though - he's tricky to get rid. We went high in wages. I guess another loan elsewhere will have to happen but we'll be picking up the bulk of his wages to a lower team.

To be fair to Sam Parkin, he was consistent for three full seasons for Swindon before joining us (26, 23, 24 goals respectively, in all competitions).

It was the wrong move because Pompey play two divisions above the level he'd be bet suited too.

You have been extremely insightful about him. Almost as obsessive as you have been about Lambert. As insightful as you were about Will Keane. Wonder why all of sudden you have stopped talking the latter? The latter who has been 'cRaP, uNpRoFeSsIoNal, hOpElEsS', hasn't he?

Now that's just silly (though a bit tongue in cheek I'm sure). He'd be regular had Colby gone to Blackpool. Bishop is better but I've seen a few Pompy fans wanting him to get to get a chance. He would probably be a little better link man for Scarlett. Bishop is their own player though as well. (Recall Cowley likening Pigott to Kane albeit for L1...haha).

He could do with going to MK Dons to keep them up.

You are wasting your time. Badger is a football illiterate. He's copying all his rants from the past about Will Keane. He's only changed the name in it from Keane to Joe Pigott.

Offer Pigott plus cash for Bishop?
That would be a similar scenario to taking Stewart from Huddersfield to get the job done while also weakening a rival.

He was fantastic in the opening games of last season under Cooky. I thought so anyway.

Don’t Portsmouth have him till the end of the season? I thought Cowley insisted there was to be no recall in January.

Therefore no decision has to be made yet.

I'm not sure if a recall clause or not. But I would think everyone would mutually want it. Their cash possibly better spent elsewhere, player would probably be pushing for it and we want him out somewhere playing to get goals, form and put in the shop window.

You just try and get what you can for him, and most likely it will be a wage contribution for a loan spell - if we go up this year he’ll no doubt get a healthy pay rise so an even smaller percentage of his wage will get covered.

Just not worked out at all for him, these things happen

Exactly that. He'll be dispatched on Loan for tbe rest of his contract unless an ambitious L2 or bottom half L1 club think they can do something with him?

Maybe Wrexham if they go up?

Feels like his season has been wasted so far for him.

Agreed. I'm just hoping as above MK will splash out to stay up.

Pompy will probably stick with him due to no release clause but feel for him. They aren't even bringing him on when they need a goal.

In an ideal world, he gets some matches for Portsmouth at the end of the season after Cowleys have been sacked and he plays well for their new manager and bangs in a few goals (especially if they are playing against our rivals). They then buy him off us at the end of the season or go for a second full season loan paying most of his wages.

I am sure he can go back to being their Harry Kane as quickly as he fell from that grace under a new manager playing a different system.
