I'd ship both Fridge and Burgess out next season and keep Woolfy as back up.

I hate slagging our players off on 15:48 - Feb 11 with 2754 views | Jimmy86 | He generally is, as he is far too laid back and casual and is caught out far too many times... I'm yet to be convinced by the hype... But you can't ever say anything about him as he came through the academy...

I'd agree. Hate all this chat about how good our squad is - not sure Burgess or Fridge have ever done anything to suggest they're a cut above others in the this league.

The central defence is the only part of the squad that KM hasn't put his own stamp on in the transfer window.. Clarke came in, but more as a hybrid right sided CB, and not a central defensive rock. And Davis is an attacking wingback. I'd expect us to strengthen the defence in The Summer, whatever league we are in...

I think it was based on Hirst being more physical.

Perhaps he needs some coaching from Butch. Is Luongo injured? If not, I would have paired him with Morsy. If he is, that was poor timing to be today.

For me, you pick your best 11 in a game like this. Ladapo is the better striker right now.

Maybe McKenna thought the goal in the week was going to boost Hirst's confidence too. I don't think McKenna sees much in it between the two of them. If Hirst can be as good as or better than Ladapo great, but we haven't seen it for us yet.

Who said this just a week ago? “ If Woolf and Burgess aren't injured, then the manager has a lot of explaining to do on how exactly they don't make the squad, Keogh is absolute DOGSH1T and a liability to all the players around him, absolutely mental that he starts a league game given the CB's we have available in the squad. ”

I hate slagging our players off on 13:24 - Feb 12 with 1809 views | pointofblue | Poor first half, not helped by a dreadful Clarke. Then again, I think all of our players were a liability out there for the first 40 yesterday. Very good second half, though.

Perhaps judging early but Hirst doesn't look up to much. Not strong, not fast, not smart, doesn't take up intelligent positions. Am I missing something?

Personally, I didn't think Woolfy was that bad in the first half. Looking at it from SBR upper, the first goal was as good a goal as I have seen, with an excellent cross, and a fantastic finish. The second goal was not Woolfy's fault. The Smith chance, where the ball was played behind Woolfy, was I think played by one of our players, and I think Woolfy thought it was being played to Walton. Of course, confidence was shaken after the first goal, and especially the second, but that seemed to affect all the players not just Woolfy. And Wednesday got equally shaky after we scored the second goal. The fact is that for several weeks, if not longer, most of our players have not been at the same level as they were earlier in the season, and I don't think Woolfy is any more to blame than anyone else, particularly as most of the goals we concede aren't down to the centre backs. I have to admit, Phil, Andy Warren and Stuart Watson all criticised Woolfenden for that Smith chance to make it 3-0 but I thought the same as you - that it was actually someone passing it back to Walton, who dashed off his line. Woolfenden slowed, thinking Walton would deal with it whilst Walton stopped, thinking Woolfenden was going to. Funny how the same incident can be seen in different ways! Oddly, it isn't included in the highlights so can't judge for certain what happened. His passing was off yesreday in the first half, but so was everyone's so unfair to single him out for that.
