This one is making me nervous.

Sounded positive from McKenna's quote, more an impact rather than anything sinister

Greg Leigh a perfectly capable replacement if needed so no need to be nervous.

Blues boss Kieran McKenna is hopeful Leif Davis’s injury, which forced the left-back off in the latter stages of Town’s 4-0 home win against Burton Albion, isn’t too serious. 3

I would suggest it may well be better to rest him tomorrow if there is any doubt. We have a perfectly decent replacement.

Greg Leigh, if Leif injury worries you.

Greg Leigh ... Greg Leigh when he scores ...

But seriously, Clarke on the left also looks good with Donacien coming in on the right.

Defensively yes, but the drop off in the attacking phase is very noticeable.

Is it? I'm not saying there isn't a drop, but I'm not sure is that much of an issue?

Leigh on the left and keep Clarke on the right for me.

We haven't been without him for a prolonged period yet and he's been in great form all season. We think leigh might be a decent backup but it's unlikely we've got 2 outatanding left-backs in league one.

If there is any doubt over his fitness, he shouldn’t play tomorrow as he might make a simple injury much worse so I’m comfortable with Leigh coming in for the Accy match or Donacien with Clarke switching to the left as he did when Davis went off.

I’d be more worried if Davis is absent for the Bolton game.

Probably but depends IMO. I think JD is the better defender so maybe we’ll see him anyway for the trickier away games coming up.

We are lucky though as Leigh and Clarke are great cover on the left. Losing Davis would be a blow but it means our attacks will just have to come from another angle and we’ll need a Humphreys or Evans to try and get close to his set-piece delivery.

I think it's a fairly substantial attacking drop.

Davis is one of the most creative players in the division, second I believe.

Certainly wouldn't be worried about Leigh playing though, he's very capable, just not in the same league as Davis in my opinion (and I guess McKenna's as Davis seems to always start if fit).

yeah i think so, i really noticed it in one of the games recently where he came on. He didn't beat his man and passed back and slowed it down. Different player to Davis of course and not expecting a like for like replacement.

I do like Leigh as well.

If Davis is deemed fit to play on Tuesday this may be the game to move away from the "only one defender on the bench" policy. Leigh and Donacien gives us reassurance if Davis breaks down.

Seem to recall a photo of Davis leaping around on someone's back at full time on Saturday.

So with that and McKenna stating afterwards it wasn't that bad and seemed to just be a knock hopefully it's nothing.

I like the aggressive bench policy, but I'd always feel more comfortable with...

1 keeper
2 defenders
1 midfielder
3 forwards

...particularly for the tougher games where a couple of injuries could force you into shoehorning a midfielder or forward into a defensive role.

Having said that I defer on all matters (including what I should be having for lunch and what type of underwear I should be sporting) to KMcK who is, as we all know, the man.
