Can vouch for Sitters the club thought McNally was done. It was his agent who completely messed Ashton around and agreed a 'deal' out of turn.

Was he a loan deal? | |

Not ideal (although we lack a bit of experience at CB). Decent pedigree but a bit meh. Was really excited about Trusty/McNally so a bit of a shame. I believe the club are working hard but its proving a tricky window!

29 isn't a bad age, especially for a centre-back.

I don't disagree. He is listed as a contender for worst ever Fulham signings (not on ability but because he's never been able to play for them). If he signed he'll have my support and I'm normally very positive. This however does not look like a good option.

If that’s true. I’m glad he’s not coming here. Doesn’t sound like the right sort at all.

Simms was “done” too, until someone offered more money

Nothing wrong with what McNally did at all. He wanted to go to Stoke. It was his agent who made it seem to Ashton/Town that his first port of call would be here.
Terence Kongolo (n/t) on 17:29 - Aug 1 with 4696 views | HighgateBlue | For those of us who don't scour Twitter, or Castlemaine XXXX or whatever Musk is calling it these days, would you care to elaborate? Are you suggesting that we /should/ sign Kongolo, or that we /will/ sign him, or that someone else with some degree of credibility is saying one of the above? Or do you just collect excellent names and like to show them off? If the latter, I'm not judging.

How can a deal be "done" when neither a fee nor terms have been agreed?

I don't think you need every player to be about potential return on investment. Sometimes you just need a good experienced player who fits the role (like Morsy, Ladapo and Luongo did). Sounds like he's had a terrible time of it with injuries: https://sportwitness.co.uk/i-done-fulham-player-details-misery-club-fell-footbal Lost 6 months to a fractured foot on his Fulham debut, returned from that, then lost 7 months to an Achilles injury, then a month after recovering from that he needed knee surgery that cost him another 5 months. He seems to have been available for selection most of the time for Le Havre last season though (they were undefeated with Kongolo in the team, fwiw). [Post edited 1 Aug 2023 18:27]
