So, although the outlook is positive, some cases will take longer to heal than expected.

Plantar Fasciitis is very common - I've had it, and it kind feels like shin splints but on the sole of your foot. What Christian has is more serious, it seems to be a tear in the muscle.

I've had plantar fasciitis for about eight months and its painful but I'm not sure that's what Christian Walton has got - his is described as a tear whereas mine is just inflammation. I've tried insoles, massage, physio and stretching but I can't shift it. But then again I'm ancient and my recovery time is probably shot. Plus I imagine the PR treatment room is a bit better equipped than I am. Think Jordan Henderson has suffered from PF and had cortisone injections?

Have the insoles that you tried got the arch support? Some, (very expensive) insoles only cover the actual heel. I bought some of the heel only type first off and found that it made it feel worse. Went for the full insole with the arch support and mine has now gone. This was also recommended to me by a podiatrist. Hope you get rid soon.

Our whole body is wrapped in myofacsia … but it gives shape and strength to the soft tissue in the body. To tear that, he’s either got a gait dysfunction which has caused a weakening snd then a tear, or he’s had foot pain for ace hole snd the medical team have given him a steroid injection ….. which incurs a risk of rupture. Bad call if the latter is true.

Try a Strassburg Sock. Can be pretty uncomfortable to sleep in but it worked for me.

As I understand it, plantar fasciiitis is an inflammation, which is what they thought it was initially. The problem is actually a tear, which is worse, hence the months out, rather more significant than the six games speculated upon earlier in the week. [Edit]Just seen Exeter's post, which covered it. As you were.[/edit]

It’s primarily a fascia weakness . Just as most Achilles tendon problems are a tendinopathy (degenerative and weakness) . You treat them both via eccentric loading (strengthening)

I think I am more ancient than you and I have it at the moment. I am using an ice block from the freezer and a bottle with frozen water which roll up and down under your foot. Both those have improved the situation considerably.
