I might catch them somewhere in the Ipswich-Shotley-Sudbury Golden Triangle, probably between Bergholt and Hadleigh.

The whole stage is live on ITV4. Suffolk looking rather glorious today. Edit .... It is when they're not having marathon commercial breaks. [Post edited 7 Sep 2023 13:25]

Anyone heading out to watch the Tour of Britain today.... on 13:09 - Sep 7 with 2505 views | NthQldITFC | I watched them come through the top of the first KoM (Freston crossroads), then went over to RHS to see the second KoM (which I won quite comfortably!). Quite a spectacle. The OB don't mess about with the motorcycle blockades etc do they!

seemed to be hundreds of old bill on motorbikes. Presumably from all over the country, some at least were welsh. This must be a dream detail for them.

Those commercial break are nuts. Completely missed Ipswich 'cos of a break. The riders were just coming up to St Augustines when they went into a break, by the time they were out of the break they were leaving Ipswich on and coming up to the Oyster Reach.

Mixed bag forr me. Got to Nacton road to see the support vehicles. Oyster Reach, prime spot in middle of roundabout Fcked up video. Bergholt, good spot on tight bend. Fcked up video. Needham Market,.got some nice footage. A140 xover...got held up.there so missed plan to catch em on the route east. Got decent view. Headed home cos it's boiling standing by roadsides in motorbike gear. Plod did a half decent job, bit ott but better than a pile up.

ToB TV camera helicopter has just flown over my house, but with the camera pointing the other way, which is a shame as the ToB viewers missed a chance to see me sunbathing in the nude.

Freston crossroads, Mont Ventoux. Pretty much indistinguishable as great climbs of the professional cycling scene

When the tour was going down my road a couple of years ago one tried to overtake another just as the road narrows and almost overturned Dukes of Hazzard style.

Most of them are technically on leave, so are volunteering for it, along with the national escort group riders. Which is why last year when they cancelled it because of HM Queen, its because the police cancelled all leave and recalled them back to their respective forces.

Sounds more like tech problems as the helicopter was happily flying overhead at the start. Quite happy with what I got, saw the start, had wanted to get to KM0, but had to settle for Felixstowe seafront instead, followed them back to Ipswich, then went back to Felixstowe for the finish. Wout doing the job, checking his Strava for the stage though and its just wow 27mph average speed for nearly 5hrs, he hit 48.1mph top speed, probably down Brantham hill I'd suspect.

The fixed speed camera thingy (tells your speed rather than sends you an action photo) is on a slight rise sadly, They banged a right at Cattawade which is a shame as going full pelt over that roundabout is one of the cycling highlights round there ;-)
