Star Wars 14:31 - Sep 9 with 6806 views | J2BLUE | If someone had never seen any of the Star Wars films what order you recommend watching them in? As they were released or starting with episode one? I have googled this but there is no clear consensus so I am turning to the wisdom of TWTD. Cheers.

I’d add Rogue One. | |

Star Wars on 14:57 - Sep 9 with 4268 views | MattinLondon | If you have Disney+ then they have a Star Wars section which tells you the best way to watch all of the films. As well as all of the other money making exercises (sorry spin-offs). Hope it helps. Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace (1999) Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones (2002) Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2003-2005) Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith (2005) Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021-2023) Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2018) Andor (2022) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope (1977) Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi (1983) The Mandalorian, season 1 and 2 (2019-2020) The Book of Boba Fett, season 1 (2021) The Mandalorian, season 3 (2023) Star Wars: Resistance, season 1 (2018) Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens (2015) Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi (2017) Star Wars: Resistance, season 2 (2019) Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Star Wars on 15:00 - Sep 9 with 4266 views | GlasgowBlue | Start with the prequels, episode 1 - 3. Not a patch on the original Lucas trilogy of 4 - 6 but nowhere near as bad as people make out. Episode three is essential imo. I wouldn't bother with episodes 7-9. They are so bad that at some stage they will be wiped from cannon and other sequels will be made. I'd watch 1, 2, 3, Rogue One, 4,5,6.

Star Wars on 15:07 - Sep 9 with 4222 views | CanadianBlue | There's the machete order: 4 and 5. Then 1, 2, and 3. Back to 6. From there... see how invested they are. Clone Wars and Rebels are very good series but you have to get past the first season for them to find their footing. The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka are enjoyable after 1-6 have been watched. 7, 8 and 9 I'd only add after 6 if the audience is younger.

Agree, original 3 and then rogue 1. If you watch particularly the prequels first it takes away the mystery around the originals (and they're nowhere near as good)

Think that's harsh Glassers. I liked 7, 8 & 9. Especially 9. 1 is the worst of the bunch, but has some important plot lines. Rogue One before 4 is absolutely essential. One of my favourites. As someone of a certain age, 4 will never be beaten.

Star Wars on 15:39 - Sep 9 with 4104 views | BlueBoots | Order of release...start with 4, 5 & 6; original and best, and if you don't enjoy those, unlikely to enjoy the rest of the films. 1, 2 & 3 have a lot less humour but will give you the back story to 4, 5 & 6, and I actually quite enjoyed and preferred 7, 8 & 9. I've done the 2 stand alone films too (Rogue One / Solo) which are both worth a watch - not got involved in any of the TV spin-offs.

Star Wars on 16:02 - Sep 9 with 4043 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | I'd personally just watch them in the order they came out, similar to any other franchise. I often find that there is stuff in prequels that you wouldn't really get the reference to if you watched them in chronological order, as they don't seem important in and of themself. I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars though so maybe the hardcore see it differently. I did really enjoy Rogue One and the first couple of series of The Mandalorian though.

Star Wars on 16:07 - Sep 9 with 4015 views | wischip | Watch them in the order they were made & released. Then you get the best impact of what happened before & after and filling in the gaps in time of how things join up. Also watch them spaced apart exactly parallel to the original releases. So 3 year gaps in between the original trilogy is essential. Then wait about 16 years before starting the prequels. You get a real sense of anticipation then. If you just binge the lot in a month it means nothing.

I’ve been quite impressed by Ashoka after 2 episodes. Didn’t know too much about her apart from her being Anakin's apprentice from the little I’ve caught from my boy watching the clone wars.

It's the closest to the original Star Trek vision that's been made since 2009
