Goodbye Freddie 17:47 - Jan 6 with 2809 viewsFrimleyBlue

As you know, I was one who wanted him most in league 1

However the Freddie we saw today was one who KM will certainly not trust to lead the line again. Sometimes you're called out for calling a player lazy, but Freddie imo was exactly this today, he just looked like a player with zero interest.

Now, before people start on the whole what do you expect with the recent negative Comments.... there have been a small minority doing so, the thousands given him support should drive him on, but for me his head and heart is not with itfc.

He's a great player, lots to offer a club, but we've reached that level that he can't Compete with, then to see a performance like that today... I'd prefer to see Jackson every week over Freddie now. At least there is a determination to do his best.

He needs to find a club suited to his style of play, he reminds me of Jason Scotland, looks
Lazy, but in the right team, will bang goals in.

A ‘great player’ is an overstatement. He isn’t even great by Championship standards.

Has done well for us but his days are numbered. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

There is a big difference between needing to move on from someone - and what this guy is saying…

Forever grateful for last season - 17 goals in our promotion season shouldn’t be forgotten.

Having said, we want to continue to develop and improve and that will mean players will be left behind when they are not at the level we want to be at when we go forward.

That’s just the way football is if you want to consistently improve - and we do need to significantly improve on Fred.

Still a player that can operate at the top end of L1 and would go with everyone’s best wishes I am sure.

Freddie played an important role in our promotion season and I'll always have a soft sport for him. But until we get a new striker then we have to play Broadhead up top. Freddie is taking up a valuable place in the matchday squad.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

He was a mystery to Colchester fans. Legendary scorer for the youth team, but when the time came to move up he went from loan to loan to loan.

A victim of our success this season. If we weren't fighting for top two, then perhaps he'd have a place. He's not dynamic enough for top Championship level.

Agreed, probably needs a partner next to him. I don't think he is bad in the box but doesn't have the agility or running power to do that selfless chasing that Hirst does do

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He did what we needed him to do. Score goals to get us out of L1. He absolutely delivered on that and I will be forever thankful for it.

He is not a top end championship striker however and if we want to continue to progress he's one we shoulfnlook to move on when we can get a suitable replacement but having lost Hirst for most of tbe rest of the season and S Scarlett we are 2 strikers down so it may not be until the summer

Blimey the self awareness klaxon is loud tonight.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Doesn’t seem to be putting in the work rate either though. Forget the top 2 of the championship stuff for moment, look at his display today against league 2 opposition. To me it’s more than just lacking game time, he’s had plenty of minutes recently and I don’t think his head is in the game.

Lucky that you’re not a supporter. So this shouldn’t resonate with you.

In the age of social media folk (so called supporters) take most pleasure dribbling out constant rants and criticism of out of form players. You know, I know, the club knows, hell Freddie probably knows he’s not at the level of a top end championship team. Why the need to drill this home day after day, it’s monotonous. He’s being played purely because he is a paid player and we have limited cover. Find something else to push into the echo chamber.
