surely we would go younger, more tactically minded, astute coach like KM

I don't even want to think about McKenna leaving us, we're all aligned, management and players, the board and the fans. He should look no further than Graham Potter as an example why he should stay and build with us. The club just have to meet his expectations which I bet are realistic because he is an intelligent guy. I am actually going to ( deliberately as I usually do it by accident ) downmark your post. BOOOOO!

Not even worth speculating at this stage, McKenna was on no ones radar before he came, so it would be anyone's guess.

As much as Southgate is being panned atm, he's still one of England's best ever managers, and will likely be gone after the next Euros. If we were in the Premier League, given our new owners, and style, he would make a very good choice. He would fit Ipswich like a glove.

Potter himself wouldn’t be a bad shout when LM leaves for a top gig. His style of football and approach is very similar. And we’ll be in the PL by then, so shouldn’t have any trouble finding someone of that calibre (although I think KM’s better, or certainly will go on to be).

It would almost be worth it to see Mach happy for a few weeks.

And then REALLY funny when we sacked him again.

I think if LM is suggested as succeeding KM then MM would have to wait until after that, but at least he would be before Neil Midgley...

Ashton's track record would suggest that when the terrible day when McKenna leaves us comes, his replacement will be a young hungry and relatively unknown coach. I very much doubt it would be a 'name', and it also doesn't seem to be his style to poach managers from other clubs.

That's assuming Ashton is still around when McKenna leaves - hopefully McKenna will be 60 and Ashton will have moved on to the pipe and slippers.

Surely Martyn Pert would be next in line, unless he goes with McKenna?

A bit of an older head, but it does mean consistency of approach, and he's young in managerial terms.

The fact that McKenna is such a baby is a good thing really. It means that he has time on his side and might well prefer to gain experience at Portman Road rather than risk a big move anytime soon.

If is long-term aim is managing at Champions League level then unlikely to be with town. The privilege of that particular competition has been well stitched up by the big boys long since.
Leicester was a freak, imo. So many things came together at one time, especially the finance. Where are they now? They now look like becoming a Southampton/Brighton/Spam type outfit. Never quite up with the big hitters and always fearing the drop.

Lets not forget that he's less than a dozen games into a reasonably positive spell at Oxford.

Wasn't quite so rosy for him before at MK, was it? Good first season, turd second. Let's just see how he works out from here, after another good start.

I've personally known Liam Manning for years, I wouldn't say we're mates but I would say hi if I saw him in the street. He is a really good coach, even when he was younger he had a good footballing brain and I can see him doing good things in time, but I think he has to prove himself in management which he hasn't done yet. They were unfortunate at MK Dons not to get them up automatically, before having his side ripped apart that summer which resulted in them starting poorly and him getting sacked. He's made a decent start at Oxford, but it really feels like a bit of a sliding doors moment for him there. They need to show progression and really get them in the top 6 or better over the next couple of years. Anything less and his stock will erode.

He needs to deliver results, and until he does that he wont have warranted an opportunity at an upwardly mobile Championship club.
