they are defending themselves against families eating in a hungry horse tonight, work friends having after work drinks.

Can see the need to carry swords.

Can see why they’d feel the need to attack cars simply passing them as they go about their business.

They are as disgusting as the scum burning hotel doorways and smashing shops up.

I hope there is a strong message from the powers that be aimed at their pathetic behaviour, and a promise to protect innocent people.

Horrific viewing.

So many innocent decent people being caught up in all this. People have enough sht to deal with without having to consider their business will be attacked, or smashed in while having a drink after work.

Claims it was started by something in Solihull (I’m not a brum expert but thought that was quite a way from the city) that rumours of Far Right attacks sparked things, that there was a man outside the local mosque inciting people.

The full force of the law is going to have to be felt and this does nothing but undermine sympathy and promote fear. The grifters and hate preachers have got what they wanted, I can only see a ricochet of violence in certain communities after the footage going around.

I’m grateful I’m in the suburbs here and untouched by what happened in the city centre yesterday and Saturday.

Doesn’t sound like anyone is looking for much of an excuse. I’m glad I live somewhere where the only agro is from pensioners tutting because our garden is a mess (the bũggers never offer to help though, even though they’ve got sod all to do all day).

Let’s hope starmer is as swift in condemning them as he was the Stella Artois drinking neo nazis. As I saw one news outlet labelling them anti racist activists.. looked like more thugs out for trouble to me..

As I understand it the Far right meet up was meant to be taking place but they were vastly vastly outnumbered.

Not to say I support some of the actions in the videos I have seen.

These fascists need to be stopped peacefully as we have seen in Bristol and elsewhere, not to stoop to their horrible level if avoidable.

That comment strongly suggests which 'side' has your sympathy.

Neither side does so that's an unfair comment.

What happened over the weekend was disgraceful and both sides need to be shutdown.

It is possible that people have genuine concerns over immigration but are normal folk who are not far right and who don't have an urge to protest/riot.

You are playing the man and not acknowledging who were actually on the streets of Birmingham last night attacking innocent people and destroying property.

Imagine that’s the first thing you can think to say after watching what we all have on the news/twitter from Birmingham yesterday evening.

Let's just say that talk of sides isn't helpful. If there is an 'other side' to violent right wing nutters it certainly isn't tooled up, masked Asian youth. Well not to my mind anyway.

You clearly have a side.

That is the only justification for persistently drawing false equivalence between two different things. Whatabouttery of the first order.

I have given my view above so trying to be clever and attacking me is exactly why we are where we are. Maybe people should start asking why we are where we are.

And it seems you also seem to have a side if that's how you want play it.

Anyone who goes on the streets with the intention to harm and destroy are scum whatever their viewpoint.

unfortunately will only get worse, dominoes always fall..
the problem is, it's getting to the point now where anyone involved needs the tiniest of reasons to join in and smash stuff up/loot.

as I said in a previous post, the dregs of society latch on to stuff like this, think it's cool.
I'm just glad I live where I am.

Why do you resort to childish name calling when anyone disagrees with your point of view? Drips, fools, sods, lemons, wets, half brains, lettuces, have I missed any?

Ohh sure you can say it if you want.

I was chatting to someone from Rwanda once about their experience of having two sides.

Bit of a silly concept all in all, doesn’t lead to good outcomes.

Even Frankie from Hollywood fame saw the futility of that.
