AL-HAMADI 21:45 - Aug 31 with 5307 views | Woolfenthen | Reminds me so much of Kuqi, may not be the best technically but makes up for that with his work rate, pressing and chasing. The kid is only 22 also, and to jump from L2 to the Prem and show some worth is credit to him. His enthusiasm towards the end of games, I believe inspires others in the team to find that little bit extra towards the end of games, really hope he can push on and fulfil the raw talent he clearly has.
AL-HAMADI on 21:54 - Aug 31 with 4581 views | FrimleyBlue | I can't say he has shown some worth. That's not a slight on him and I'm digging him out purposely but he's so far behind on level I actually feel for him getting minutes as he was like bambi on ice when he came on again. He slipped. Tripped. Bounced off players. I don't understand the pressing you mention as it wasn't evident to me. It's a shame for him he didn't get a loan as he needs it. As I say I don't mean it to sound so harsh but I don't really know how else to describe him and I know it comes across really bad so I will apologise it sounds really harsh but I just don't see what you see and even more so I just don't see how he fits a KM side.

He’s very much a short term fix until Hirst is back, and we should be crossing our fingers for Delap to stay fit and available. Having a run of starts up there and to feel that sense of importance to the side will do Delap no end of good for his development, but we’re a bit fooked if he gets injured. In that instance I dare say Szmodics would move forward before AAh started a game, but that’s far from ideal. There’s no doubt that the plan wouldn’t have been for us not to recruit an additional #9, the pursuit of Broja is evidence of that, but it is what it is now. As you say a championship loan and 30 starts at that level would’ve been ideal for AAH this season.
AL-HAMADI on 22:01 - Aug 31 with 4513 views | PioneerBlue | With Hirsty on the way back he may not get as many minutes as he needs but he does have a knack of scoring goals in this team despite limited starts and games. I’d expect he would be a different player in 5-6 games but that could take some time after the international break.

I suspect we even may have looked to loan him out had we been in the Championship this season. He was signed very much with an eye on the future and it's to his credit he slotted in as well as he did. And wasn't he carrying (or still is) an injury? The downside of back to back promotions is some players who you want to keep hold of are just not up to the standards you are reaching and aspiring to at the moment.

Have to say I agree. I thought that last year and therefore more so now. That said McKenna must see something so that’s good enough for me at the moment.

As he gets fitter and plays more, he will create even more chaos. He will be fine. There was an awful lot of s-housing from Fulham. AAH gave them some back.
AL-HAMADI on 00:15 - Sep 1 with 3702 views | Kentish_Tractor | He's a fly at a picnic in Premier League terms. As far as the opposition are concerned, he buzzes around a lot, is hard to catch and is mildly annoying; but essentially harmless unless you make a mistake trying to swat it.

Would it be fair to liken him to Naylor when we can up last time? Not Premier level natural ability but what he lacks there makes up with endeavour?

He joined us when we were flying high in th Championship, so I'd imagine that if we hadn't of got promoted then he would have played an important role this season. As we did go up it feels like he needs a bit more time to adjust than he actually has. He's gone from L2 to PL in about half a season. That's a huge step. I like the kid, there is a player in there, but he's not PL.... Yet. Some might jBe wanted him sent out on loan but I like the fact that he will be around the squad and the team for the first half of the season at least. Will give McK a chance to embed his philosophy into him further. I could see him going out on loan in Jan to get some playing time if he's not getting it here, especially if we strengthen further in the next window

It wouldn’t be so bad if the chaos he brought was to the opposition. He’s probably a great bloke and he’s got something in there but it’s plainly obvious this is a step too far too soon. [Post edited 1 Sep 2024 8:19]

We made a number of chances to win the game after he came on and he was involved in some of that. Give him time. There’s potential there. I agree with the sentiment that if we bring in another striker in Jan then send him out on loan to play regularly. He needs week in, week out football assuming his fitness issues are resolved.
AL-HAMADI on 08:23 - Sep 1 with 2895 views | DanTheMan | Can only reiterate what others have said really, I think there's something there but he needs time at lower levels. This time last year he was playing in League Two. Just a huge jump.

AL-HAMADI on 08:36 - Sep 1 with 2794 views | GlasgowBlue | Sad to say but he’s a big drop off when he comes on. No hold up play and sloppy passes which concedes possession. Not his fault. If not for the injury to Hirst, or out inability to get in another striker, he would be learning his trade as a Championship loanee. The sooner Hirst returns the better.

I think it was CC that chipped it through to him in the final stages, he had no idea what to do with it, passed it to Jack Clarke on neither his left or right foot, bang at him. Chance gone.

This 100%. We have Hirst back soon I hope but we’d have been so much better off letting him go and get a season in the championship - he won’t kick a ball the best part of 3 months once Hirst is back, and before AAH goes out on loan. Surprised we couldn’t identify a more experienced stop gap to allow that to happen, but guess time ran out.

Then gave possession away in injury time and had to foul their attacker to stop play

AL-HAMADI on 09:12 - Sep 1 with 2538 views | franz_tyson | He's got my full support and I have no issues about his attitude and work-rate. The only thing I take issue with is some fans going over the top about him. As yet..... he hasn't really shown any real quality. He scored 4 goals in relatively quick succession from the bench and some got out their calculators and worked out a very impressive goals per minute record. And then he became some sort of fox-in-the-box wonderkid. He's not.... 3 tap-ins and a dead-rubber penalty. Let's not go overboard and be realistic with him. If he puts in a energetic cameo where he's being a nuisance and chasing lost causes - I'm happy. He's filling in and doing a job for the club.

He has been in the right place at the right time, quite often. Which is an important trait in a striker. He has pace and strength and surprises people. He will be fine.
