In the summer, Delap will become one of the most sought after strikers in Europe - and yes, regardless of whether we stay up or go down, I think that he’ll be off in the summer.
In the worst case scenario and we are relegated, I don’t think that this will result in Delap going for next-to-nothing (by todays standards) as a lot of clubs will be after him. And not just in this country. A bidding war will kickoff with the final sum being well over £60 million. | | | |

Reading between the lines I think he can’t go anywhere this window even if we wanted to sell, which we don’t.
At a guess whatever the clause is with Man City means they’ll get first dibs and at another guess there was a clause that meant it couldn’t be done this window.

I can't believe we've 'Cameron Archer'd' the deal to make it an expensive season long loan.
However, and I hope I'm wrong, but I can see him going for far less than we all expect. I think he is brilliant, but I wonder if he doesnt have enough on the proverbial top level highlight reel yet to command the fees we are dreaming of. Marcus Stewart had a great first premiership season, Kelvin Davies, Michael Ricketts etc etc (I think Delap is better than all three obviously) and none had a huge money move after.
And also...Richard Wright went for far less money than expected with a far greater body of worth.

NOBODY KNOWS the details of the contract that was signed - it was never published. SSN claimed there was a 20% sell-on clause. TWTD also mentioned a buy-back clause was understood to be included.

An English striker who's 21 with likely double digit goals in the PL, not a chance he goes for 30m.
It's fairly obvious with other teams struggles just how difficult it is to sign a striker so I'd guess a minimum of 45m, but could quire easily be 60m. |  |

There's as much proof out there that it exists as there is that it doesn't. Didn't Ashton laugh it off? And I'm sure Phil has intimated that it's more of a Philogene situation where they can essentially match a fee with a 20% discount. There is simply no way on earth any football club signs a player for £20m and puts a £30m buyback in the deal. | | | |
