Jude Bellingham 20:20 - Mar 24 with 3831 viewsbsw72

Seems to have turned into more of a primadonna even since the summer. I find very little to like about him these days.

Sublime goal from Reece James

I watch him play football and love just about everything I see in how he plays. Sensational footballer who we should just enjoy. Top 3-4 players in the world right now. Will be one of the all time greats.

(i do understand he plays with a bit of ego which can grate but I just love to watch him play)

We should have signed his brother in the summer. Apparently Dortmund and Chelsea are looking at him now.

Truly impaired.

Some player to be fair.

Just said exactly the same thing to a mate. Can't say this England team are particularly "likeable" and that includes the manager.

Yes, seem to be missing something, all a little clinical and manufactured, lack of personality and spirit. Can’t quite put my finger on it apart from the fact that nothing about this team excites or inspires me.

Don't criticise him or he'll come out and say he feels like a scapegoat, poor sausage.

England fans criticism will be nothing compared to the Madrid criticism when he eventually gets that (even Ronaldo got booed for games)

Brilliant player but has a bit of arrogance and character so we’d better grind that out of him

The best player we have had for a long time. Has everything. Perhaps it's the way he is asked to play for England that is the problem. If we played a way to suit his natural game, then I think you would be saying something totally different.
It isn't always the players, but the way the manager has asked them to play.

I’d like the team to have some character, or even characters in it. I just don’t like the arrogance of some of them, including Bellingham. He’d probably not be half the player he is without it, I just don’t like how I see him behave (not how he plays).

He’s probably a lovely chap, I’m just judging what I see on the occasional time I see him play.

It’s not about how he plays, the more the way he carries himself. I’ve said the same watching him play for Madrid.

I agree his arrogance can be a bit annoying, but most of the best have an attitude. (Messi excluded)

Really? Bellingham seems to be marmite but Saka, Kane, Rashford, Rice, Bowen, Lewis-Skelly and Burn are all likeable IMO.

No strong opinions on the others but none I find that bad. Pickford is a bit of a knob but he's a decent keeper.

He’s not a great yet, he’s got potential to become one.

He's 21 and has a Champions League winner's medal and 40+ caps for England.

Unless he gets injured he is nailed on to be a great.

I find them all a bit dull to be honest. Not exactly anything to dislike, but nothing to make you think I’d like to grab a drink with these guys, they seem fun.

His career is well mapped out. Very good people around the Bellingham's. There are a few choices but certainly planned out. Very sensible done he stayed an extra year with Sunderland.

Dodds who coached the brothers with Bellingham was a primary reason for him going to Sunderland. The brother is senior European scout for Dortmund. You can join the dots.

Exactly, nailed on to be, hopefully. Maldini is a great, Modric is a great, Messi, Ronaldo, Beckenbauer, Maradona and Pele etc. all greats.

Getting 40 caps and winning a champions league by 21 doesn’t earn that title, yet.

Honestly, he does stuff that reminds me of Zidane(my personal pick for all time Greatest Of All Time) only faster.
That's Great material, right there. As you say, only thing holding him back is injury and overly conservative England tactics.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

No no no, the board experts told us that it would be just signing a name and he had very little quality.

Which, really now is a bit of a silly thing to have said.

Does this mean that buying Championship players is okay after all?

Why do English fans hate confidence so much ?

He is a great footballer and he knows it and he acts like it. I don't see the problem.

I don’t hate confidence, I dislike arrogance. There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance—confidence inspires others and is rooted in self-belief, while arrogance often alienates, stemming from a need to prove superiority. Jude Bellingham, for all his undeniable talent, occasionally treads this line and that is what I don’t like.
