I'd imagine it's because we've just burgled a replay not due to profound happiness with where the club is at.

Another display with pretty worrying signs today.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

FFS. This post was nothing to do with the result today.

I was just loving the joy in the stands.

A lot of you just want to be so fkn miserable all the time don't you?

We got a lucky break today. That'll do.

Others are pointing out it's a natural response to a lucky break. Nothing to do with those who were thanked in the OP.

We'll definitely take the lucky break if the game is replayed in full. I presume it will be.

Ashton also took part in the celebrations on the pitch at the corner of the stand.

Indeed, I can't ever remember so many players and backroom staff on the pitch at the end of a game, short of end of season celebrations.

I suppose it was the joy of realising they had got out of jail, and a wish to share it with the fans.

Most get it I think.

“Running towards adversity” & starting again with pretty much an entire new team to bed in, in mid-September, 6th game of the season, seem to be concepts too much for some to handle though.

We shouldn’t be celebrating a game getting called off to a crappy team like Blackburn. Fair play for the squad and staff all going over to thank the supporters but we’d be calling anyone else incredible tinpot for celebrating it.

The fans taking the piss out of the situation is fairly funny but a weird over the top OP here.

There's some miserable folkers on here.
If you've never danced, laughed, and had fun in the rain you really have missed the point of everything.

Nothing wrong with that in the moment!

A bit of a weird post after being 1-0 down to Blackburn after 80 minutes. Seems desperate to praise up the afternoon, not an ideal day!

I was drenched to the skin and didn't get home on my train journey until 6 hours after the game.

Had we lost that would have been a miserable journey but the abandonment made it all worthwhile, so I celebrated like crazy when the players came out.

And the Express reported this.

Meanwhile Ipswich posted a thankful message to their travelling support, writing on X: "The players are out thanking the travelling fans. Just shy of 4,000 supporters for over a 500-mile round trip. Rough day."

yep…did all that …including my grandson…who was attending his first ever away game ….receiving Darnell Furlong’s shirt…what a star..and shows how bad the conditions were the shirt still wasn’t dry by the time we got home…think it also shows how special our fans are because ..and we were last to board..we got back to the coach everyone applauded when Jack got on with his prize…was very touched….

See the above mate.

My post was just about the camaraderie which has built up in the club, nothing to do with the performance or result on the day. It's not good for anybody's soul (or for the integration and growth of a very good squad, under a very good manager) to be in a permanent state of butt-hurt and anger that we are not ten points clear at the top of the league.

Of course we should be celebrating that! It was a ridiculous match that was getting worse by the minute with the conditions

The fans are entitled to celebrate whatever they want imo, and after a very rough day they’re welcome to enjoy it. It is great that the team and fans have built such a strong bond, particularly when you see Southampton and Scum fans already booing their managers and calling for the sack. One would hope and assume there were no celebrations in the changing room from the squad or staff and they’re ready to get back to work on Monday

This from the EADT.

Chairman Mark Ashton is quoted in a club social media post as saying: "We’ll look at what we can do for the fans who travelled all this way and supported the team in such difficult conditions. The main thing we want to say is thank you.”

Have you had a bang on the head? The OP is clearly about the gestures to the fans who travelled all that way, not about the game itself.

Honestly, I'm stunned to come on here and find so many miserable fockers. Seems like those standing in the rain were less miserable than some of the mopey fockers on here.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
