Akpom isn't a PL quality striker, and others we have aren't specialized in that area.

I wouldn't have been happy with no new striker before Emersonn's injury but now it's even more essential. No offence to Akpom but he just isn't good enough, if there wasn't an obligation to buy in his contract last season, he wouldn't even be here right now. Akpom is 30. He has never done it at this level. He couldn't even do it at the level below last year. Not sure how a bit of confidence could change that. If he gets significant minutes this season, we will struggle. |  | | |
