Rotherham Boss: Moore Not Involved at Fulham and Town Set to Sell

Rotherham boss Paul Warne says Kieffer Moore won’t be involved with the Blues at Fulham tomorrow night and that Town will sell the 25-year-old frontman, whose season-long loan with the League One Millers they have cut short, during the transfer window.

Following his side’s 1-1 draw with Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers at the New York Stadium this afternoon, Warne told reporters that Town won’t be including Moore in their squad at Craven Cottage as they plan to sell him.

He added that Rotherham, who have made a club record offer, are one of three clubs battling it out for the striker, who cost the Blues £20,000 when he was signed from Forest Green Rovers in January 2017.

Charlton, Scunthorpe and Bradford are believed to be among the other clubs interested in 6ft 5in tall Moore, who scored 13 goals for the Millers during the first half of the season.

The Torquay-born striker, who it's understood wasn't involved in training at Playford Road this morning, is contracted to Town until the end of the season with the club having an option for a further year.

We ain't got a ‘cat' in hell's chance (one for you there Rensham lol) of getting top 6, so why not give him a go.

One thing you can say with Mick in is his transfer business is he knows how to play situations. Unlike previous managers when we go for someone it's usually kept low key until the last minute, meaning we pay less, look at Waggy and Garner. His predecessors were normally vocal which ended up inflating the price. Again selling we haven't done bad, £8m for Mings!! I guess he intends to sell but by saying a rediculous offer needed will end up inflating the price, rather than just saying he is for sale. At end of day a 20k signing going for at least 25x that 1 year later is good business.

If this is true yet another player bought in and not given a chance why Rowe has not been given a chance is beyond me he's played well at the u23 level there's been a few Irish lads bought over and never been given the opportunity to succeed there are some real gems to be found in the lower leagues we've been going no where for 16 years why not change some philosophies and attitudes rather than play the same old trusted pro's that have got us nowhere try someone different I'm so bored of our treadmill existence to quote a famous song "we're on the road to nowhere "

The leading scorer in Division 1, to be sold during the January window, by a club who don't need to sell & where there are a number of interested parties, should be attracting a minimum of £1.5m in the current financial climate. It shouldn't matter how much we paid for him, nor how much we paid for Waghorn & Garner. He is a highly sought after asset right now & should be valued accordingly.

WHAT A CROCK OF S##T, been looking forward to him having the rest of season with us . I said a couple of days ago that Milne speaks with forked tongue. We are as usual quick to sell and slow to buy, We will be last to rummage around to find a player before window closes as usual . I HONESTLY HOPE this one comes back to bite us on the a''e . [it wont be the first time, . Really p#ssed off .

Agree with an above poster regarding Warne disclosing this information. Moore is not his player and was only on loan. Shouldn't be discussing other teams transfer business and I'm sure Mick would not appreciate that. Not a nice way of doing business. If we are going to sell him and with multiple teams interested, we need to generate a bidding war. 750k to 1 million should do it, but any money received should he put back into the squad. Won't hold my breath though

EatonBlue added 20:09 - Jan 1 I feel sorry for Rotherham as they are likely to be outbid. It would have made sense to keep him in the squad here in case we need him in the (albeit unlikely) event that we have cup run or revive our play-off aspirations.

I would be interested to know what the highest amount Rotherham have paid for a player? I would be surprised if we get more than 200K? Still if we get that, not bad business as I really don't think he is as good as we have already got!
I don't understand why the expectations are so high for signing a player in January? No club is going to let a quality player go in this window unless they are desperate for money! it then becomes a bidding war and lets be honest, we cannot compete!

So we all get uptight and our manager and MD are liars based on some so far unacknowledged comments by somebody who has absolutely no say in our club who wants to buy our player and should keep his mouth firmly shut. If we sell then so be it but let's wait for an offal comment fro. OUR management not somebody else's. At least we conduct out transfer dealings with an element of dignity
