Redknapp Keen on Town Job
Thursday, 26th Apr 2018 09:43

Much-travelled veteran boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his interest in the Town job.

The 71-year-old, who is known to be a friend of Marcus Evans and is understood to have been one of those the Blues owner took advice from when appointing previous bosses, said he’d be keen on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT and urged Evans to call him.

“It’s a real good club and I know the owner Marcus Evans. He’s got my number and I’m here Marcus!” he said.

How serious Redknapp might be about taking on the Town job or another management role elsewhere remains to be seen having hinted at retirement after leaving Birmingham in September last year.

Either way, despite the connection with Evans, Redknapp, whose other previous clubs include the Hammers, Tottenham, Portsmouth (twice) , Southampton, QPR and AFC Bournemouth as well as the Jordanian national team, seems highly unlikely to be a leading contender to take over at Town. More on the current speculation regarding the Blues manager's job here.

Has Maurice Steijn joined Heerenveen. He,d be a much better bet than ,Arry.

If we appoint Redknapp I'm becoming a rugby fan instead.

Thankfully I don't think he'd be what Marcus wants. He wouldn't have enough money to throw about.

It was totally tongue in cheek. Shocking how a bit of banter between two old mates becomes a headline for a new manager

It won't be harry, Coleman etc etc
It will be a young manager.
From what Marcus said yesterday I think he is looking for someone to take over the running of the first team not the whole club as like mick was.
This means we may get a director of football aka klug to be a link between first team and academy.

Luckily the Marcus Evans Group has a very large supply of brown paper envelopes. Allegedly.

Ha ha! I had to laugh at this. Of course, the best bit about this story is the revelation by Harry that he hasn't yet had a call from Marcus. Lets hope it stays that way...

Harry wont come somewhere where hes not given toms
Of cash somhe can tale backhanders off agents(*allegedly). Im not worried, his appointment would go against everything ME said the other day. Although his comment dows seem to suggest suprisingly hes not been comsulting Arry on the next appointment at all

Ive never liked Harry since his wet sham days... He's like a character from Minder( for you kids that was a popular TV show in tbr 80s). I can imagine him saying to Marcus “I could be so good for you” 😉
