Earlier this afternoon MacAnthony revealed that the former Swansea and Crawley man had set his heart on a move to a Championship club, who we can confirm are Town.
The precise fee is currently unconfirmed but is understood to be a significant sum with Edwards's former club Crawley set to receive a six-figure sell-on from the deal agreed when he joined Posh in 2016.
He is adamant about wanting to leave & play in the championship as has been obvious for last couple weeks. He is a great lad but made things clear about this & left me/the club with no choice but to do best deal we can with 10 months left on his contract. Sorry Posh fans.– Darragh MacAnthony (@DMAC102) July 13, 2018
Talks regarding personal terms are set to take place over the next few days with Edwards looking set to become new manager Paul Hurst’s third Blues signing.

Great stuff. I've never seen him play but sounds like that Posh chairman really wanted to keep him. I wonder what sort of fee it is. Peterborough don't usually sell on the cheap. As long as he's not another Paul Taylor I'm happy!
Hope we still go in for McKay at Forest. That link has gone quiet. We supposedly made a firm enquiry with Forest for him, but not heard anything since. Can't be that much as forest want did.
He will be a terrific signing (fingers/toes crossed) the Peterborough owner doesn't normally get it wrong when saying he loves a player, he has been raving about him all summer thinking he was staying, if we can complete the signing it shows real intend & would give us a quality left winger: I was v impressed by him, when watching Peterborough game with Blackburn last season on Sky:
Another pot luck player. When are the players who play in the positions we need to fill going to be signed? We are looking to be short of defenders to fill the gaps left by the sale of Webster and the loss of carter-vickers. Beginning to look as though it will be a case of we are going to try to score goals and hope the opposition are not capable of scoring more .
Stand out performer the season before last then spent most of the time injured from what I heard. With our history I hear "injury" and alarm bells ring, probably unfairly but we will see.
One of a string of talented players to come out of posh. Along with Maddison (who would be out of our budget). Great signing. Now for a centre back N'siala please!
Again, as was with Roberts, his wikipedia page already says Ipswich Town. It was true for Roberts so hopefully it will again be true. Now as Jimmy86 has said, get McKay from Forest and we're all set regarding wingers. Would like to see Tilt join us as well.
All the moaners moaning about Marcus's recruitment of a new manager. He then signs his No.1 target. excellent work.
An article commented that he had been picking the brains of Barry Fry about players and once again the moaners whine about him. Cleary he had his target again.
Just off to finish my glass (its half full) of cider. Leave some of you to finish your half empty ones.
You can have as many wingers as you like but you must first have a defence to support them ! No point playing with six wingers if you cannot defend . Appears to me ward and Rowe are on the way out and being replaced by any pot luck players thought to have been suitable for Shrewsbury Town!
I work with a St Johnstone fan & when he was there he started off on the wing, they then gave him the number 10 shirt & he played behind the strikers, he said he was outstanding! Sounds a good bit of business, hopefully some more new faces in next week, hoping Tilt is one of them & Bart to sign a new contract. COYB
