The Ashes 2017/2018 Thread on 04:46 - Dec 5 by TLA | It was a good catch by Overton - he's had a decent game. I thought we'd see Rommy tonight. |
Tiredness got the better of me But I'm up for the next few hours We are right in this it seems

England have the slightest of chances, Aussies are still the heavy favourites.

Given how we have batted so far massive favourites but it is good of them to make a game of it Batting under the lights will be interesting

I'd still say we're 20/1 underdogs especially how Lyon is bowling. Nice to see us put up a bit of fight though.

That's a lot to ask on a wearing pitch, the quality of the Aussie attack and the light factor. Pleased England are fighting, but I would much prefer to be in Australia's position than ours chasing the runs. Nevertheless, if we do manage to pull this off I will be so thrilled!!

The Ashes 2017/2018 Thread on 08:16 - Dec 5 with 6659 views | Steve_M | We gave up too big a lead in the first innings to have much chance of winning, two quick wickets reduced that even further. Nice to see some fight and bowling Australia out cheaply is always good but can't see us getting much past 250.

Will give the Aussies something to blub about on the off chance they do lose.

In the last decade, England have been set 350+ to win 15 times. Not only have they never won, they've never got within 100 of the target.

The Ashes 2017/2018 Thread on 09:27 - Dec 5 with 6619 views | gainsboroughblue | Crikey. That was some delivery from Cummins. 246 needed. One big partnership would go some way to helping but we haven't really had one of note in the series.

Here's hoping for some comedy decisions going against them now, preferably involving Stuart Broad. [Post edited 5 Dec 2017 9:38]

No! hopefully Broad wont be seen untill they have some reviews back. Seeing him with no reviews means that its before the new ball.

Reviews don't get topped up on 80 overs any longer.

Malan looked plum in real time, good decision though. 150-3 at the close would be lovely. [Post edited 5 Dec 2017 9:41]

Really???? so thats it for the innings? In that case either hope to not see him. OR Broad score the winning runs after being a terrible Not Out decision and him not walking.

Possibly. Although Australia have only ever played 4 bowlers historically. If we take this chase deep then the tiredness of their bowlers could become a factor.
