More than 500k then.

If we sell him or turn it down I am sure some will find a way to criticise McCarthy and Evans

Club record bid - assume about £500k - can't remember Rotherham paying much more than that.

Can understand letting him go. Our strike force is strong enough and could use the money to bolster the midfield.

£500k is their transfer record. Anything above that would be a pretty decent profit on £10k we paid for Moore a year ago.

With a bit of luck The Millers might have a bit of competition that might drive it up a tad. He's the sort someone like Posh might look at as a chance to develop further and sell on. They've sold some cracking players over the years.

Really disappointed by this. Mainly because it seems so believable coming from their equivalent of Stuart Watson too now.

Mick keeps juggling sand and turning dogsh1t into diamonds it seems. Evans meanwhile can't cover the losses and compete so we're selling someone to cover an injury crisis is my guess.

We really are in the fcuking mire off the field aren't we? If they stay fit I'd expect one of the young midfielders to go this summer too.

On the plus side you'd expect that McG to stay until the summer and this lad from Ireland to be the nuts if he can keep out Moore who has been scoring for fun in Div 3. There is of course a likelihood that he's just cheaper.

Suspect it’s simply a matter of the money being too good to turn down (50 times profit in 12 months is some going) and not needing strikers - especially when you consider we have Morris and Folami coming through, on top of Waghorn, Garner, McGoldrick etc etc.

It doesn’t mean we’ll be forced to sell in the summer, I wouldn’t think.

How good would it be after a season though?

Even if we're talking 500k, less the Evans tax necessary to keep us going I can't see it staving off the prospect of us accepting 4 or 5 times that again for say Nydam.

Garner and Mcgoldrick are both likely to be out with injuries throughout a season and in the case of McG leaving anyway. As much as I'd love to see Folami come through, it'd just be nice for once to have a player like Moore sweep in in January and slap a few defences about.

I'll believe it when I see it but if it's true then it's disappointing. We can only dream of signing a top striker from league one these days and when we've already got one he's heading out the door.

I don't understand it but i'll wait for the fee before getting too annoyed.

Truly impaired.

I'm disappointed. We're losing momentum at the moment and a fresh face with some confidence behind him might be just what we need - instead we're selling him.

I thought Mick said we weren't looking to let him go?

Thing is, 50 times profit on a tiny fee is still not much, in absolute terms. Less than 10% of a single year's losses.

How much more significant might four or five goals, perhaps off the bench, late in a game, be?

Freddie Sears would be good for Rotherham, they can have him on loan until the end of the season and we'll keep Moore, it could do Sears the world of good too, he'd do well in League One I reckon..

Biggest concern in selling is Although some say he isn’t better than what we have, but what we have is 1 injury prone striker, one yellow card magnet and no loan window after Jan. Very quickly you have zero options

The money might be needed to pay for wages of a loanee in January perhaps.

In a lot of ways, I'd be happier to save the money by loaning out Sears instead. Moore has his eye in, at least.
