That's not how others have taken it. It's also not clear, listening to Michael Gove earlier and seeing some now removed advice that the Government put out last night, that your interpretation was what was intended. The messaging hasn't been clear. I'm not sure why you can't grasp that when multiple people say advice is clear whilst simultaneously offering different interpretations of said advice then by definition it isn't clear.

We're going round in circles, can't be bothered with this anymore.

Where does this £94 p/w figure come from? I got a lot more than that when I was on Universal Credit.

I didn't say whether the advice was right or not, I just said it was pretty clear.

It certainly doesn't make social distancing pointless.

I've already demonstrated that it's not clear. But what is clear is that you don't agree so let's leave it there.

Lol, I could say exactly the same about you.

Reasons you can leave your home;

1. Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.

2. Travelling to and from work, but only if you're a key worker.

One of these Boris actually said. The other he didn't.

Don't shoot the messenger, that's how some other people have interpreted it. There is widespread uncertainty about what constitutes "absolutely necessary" in the context of still going to work during a national emergency, a point you've repeatedly swerved. Check out this thread for several intelligent posters disagreeing over what was meant by the advice:
"You must stay at home" by Mullet 23 Mar 2020 20:40
Who is writing his speeches? He means "you will" doesn't he?

Boris has not been clear enough throughout for me. His choice of language and form goes before him.

Dollers, your sole argument is that you think it's clear. I've provided plenty of evidence that it's not and all you're doing is repeating that it's clear. So yeah, I think we're done really if that's all you've got.

I haven't swerved anything at all. The full sentence is "absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home."

I've posted two sentences, one he said one he didn't. Throughout this you've been trying to suggest option 2 could be interpreted from what he said.

OR, rather than trying to interpret, you could go by what he actually said, take it at face value and stop trying to read things into it.

If you consider your work to be absolutely necessary and it can't be done from home, then off you go. Whether that's right advice or not, I haven't commented on. It is, however, clear.

I've read Mullet's thread and he got slaughtered for it.

I could say the sky is blue and grass is green and there would be people who argue that information isn't clear. That doesn't make it not clear though. People have their own agendas for saying it's not clear, or they're really stupid. Unless Boris says your specific job should be halted, you have to make your own judgement on whether it can be done from home and is absolutely necessary.

It's really not difficult.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

It's easy for you to criticise when you can do your job without coming into contact with anyone. Plenty of people can't work from home and need to earn to live. They will see their work as being essential and will carry on doing it for as long as they are able to.

But I clearly said that if I wasn't lucky enough to be able do do as I can then I wouldn't go in.

You can't on the one hand moan about people being selfish and then say they have no choice.

The government need to move on this now.

Pictures of our packed tube trains are being shown on news channels around the world in complete amazement.

If your job isn’t essential to the running of the country or the fight against Coronavirus, you should be at home, and your boss should be making that clear.

This is not really helping matters and surely it needs to be upgraded and updated doesn't it?

Edit. SARS is listed as a HCID but not C-19 which is hard to understand.

It's much easier to say that when you're not actually having to make the decision though. If I couldn't work from home and maintaining my income was dependent on going into work I think I'd find that a really tough call. That's why people shouldn't be being made to make that call.

No, because others have also thought the advice is clear and reached very different conclusions to you on what the advice is meant to mean. Those reaching that conclusion seem at least as sharp as, indeed probably sharper than, you.

I did earlier, you clearly didn't read it. At least two people in Mullet's thread interpreted it as relating to key workers. One poster with that view got quite shirty with me for saying the advice was unclear, which is quite ironic really given that you're doing the same despite reaching a different conclusion to the other poster and thus proving me right.

Also, see this from the Beeb:

People can go to work if they cannot do their work at home, the health secretary has said, amid confusion over the new coronavirus restrictions.

It comes after calls for clarity, including from construction workers, about Monday's wider shutdown measures."

Not the kind of thing that's usually required after a clear and unequivocal statrement. And it's not you being smarter than others, Dollers, in fact it's quite the opposite.
