Not sure what it says for Ipswich that both McDonalds and KFC have included us in their extremely limited opening lists!

I feel bad for the poor sods that are going to have to work there. I hope McDonalds are at least offering some kind of extra financial incentive, it's hardly a bloody 'essential' business, is it.

Can’t believe the first few replies don’t include ‘back to work for you then’. Standards slipping.

No, but it does do takeway food and so is within government guidelines for them to operate. I can't see why it is any worse for them to open than Greggs, my local indian restaurant or the pub down the road that that is now doing takeaway food.

It’s not that bad usually. No different to getting it yourself and taking home.

Aye, I understand how legally they're getting away with it but it's a bit of a p1ss take, isn't it? I'll happily smash back 25 mcnuggets just like the next moron but surely in this day and age no one actually thinks the "meals" you get in McDonalds are actual meals?

It'd be more comparative if an Ice Cream parlour or sweet shop opened, comparing it to a local restaurant is a bit of a stretch.

I don't get why anyone would care or rush out to get one?

Same with the people queuing for miles for the Costa drive through? Its not like we are living with no food, we can all buy and make our own.

They are convenient if you are out working or travelling a long distance, but not much of this should be happening anyway at the moment.

Unless you're in Germany, of course, where you can order a McBeer with your 'food'. At least that's one thing going for them.

I suspect it's more to do with the location of the building, Cardinal Park has plenty of space to get people off the road. The Ravenswood one queues into the road in normal times so when all the idiots rush out to McDonalds on day one it would have been mayhem.

It’s delivery only - Cardinal Park will have been chosen as it’s nice and central

My comment though was more around little old Ipswich being chosen at all - McD’s and KFC have opened up a max of 15 stores each and both included 1 here
