Yeah that’s what we have onboard. That Captain Phillips movie had a lot of bollox in it.

You’ve done the sea survival course?

My first jon upon leaving school was as a decky learner on an oilrig standby ship.

I didn't like it from the moment I set foot on ship.

When the skipper was introduced to me he was taking a leak over the side, he still had his knob in his hand as he turned to greet me.

The engineer, who occupied the bunk beside mine, had a stack of porno mags and spent virtually the whole trip w@nking vigorously.

I spent the entire time seasick, really badly sea sick, I am a terrible sailor to this day. I have actually felt sea sick on a pedalo.

The skipper was cross-eyed, which gave me a bit of anxiety as we were bobbing about close to a rig and he was the bloke mainly in charge of keeping it away from the rig.

I did have a bit of luck though, the boat developed a fault and we had to return to Lowestoft two weeks early. The rest of the crew referred to me as Jonah after that, but I didnt care I was on my way home.

The ships cook gave me teh leftovers of a hock of ham for my dog as I disembarked, and told me to avoid customs as they wouldn't like me bringing it ashore. Everyome else just sauntered out of port, I got hauled in to the customs post.

I picked up my pay, went home and never went back.

Not the life for me.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

Number two looks like the sort of thing Captain Phillips was kidnapped in.

I have practised dragging and being dragged into number 3 in a pool in Lowestoft.

Me too, they’re bloody hard work. I did my sea survival certificate at the Fire Service College as a student. Being hosed down while trying to right and get into one of those things in the dark wasn’t fun. I wouldn’t want to attempt it in the ocean.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

That’s superb.

I have had a lot of sea sick cadets on ships. I normally make them up a ginger tea.

Helped set up a local community group helping those self isolating with shopping.

Spoke to my neighbours.

Cycled over 650 miles in April :-)

For the first time in 30 years since studying it, have discovered there are practical uses for mathematical modelling.

Worked out how to use zoom / houseparty.

Reconnected with some old teacher mates.

Looked forward to bin day.

I have, it's one of the things that prompted my spending splurge!

But Ihave to say, I am extremely jealous of anyone with any talent for art - as I have none.

The people I mean are those who can, with just a few pencil swipes or brush strokes, conjure up something marvellous. Whereas I, after a few hours of scribbling and erasing, or daubing and overpainting, always end up with an incoherent, out-of perspective mess!

Not go out of the house. I haven't left the house since the 1st of May. I've been doing home workouts and spending lots of time in the garden, so I'm getting enough exercise, but I can't be arsed to go out properly at the moment.

Running.

Since my new disc last Nov I've been able to gently ease back into this activity I've always hated. I've got 24 years of running to catch-up on. I'm loving Strava and a few military physical training groups on FB.

1.5 miles with 500 squats and 100 press-ups. Took me three days to walk properly but what a rush!

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Ran over 12 miles for my weekly ‘long’ Friday morning run; I never thought I’d manage that.

But you’re enjoying MS Teams? Seriously?

It’s been the bane of my life since mid March!

I get seasick in the bath. I went on a wreck diving trip off the east coast of Queensland once, thinking it'd be like the Barrier Reef stuff. But it was open ocean and we had a 3 hour RIB trip out across stormy seas to get there, which I spend the wole time hanging over the side, lashed to the side rope of the RIB.

We dived, I spent 45 minutes feeding the fish and sea snakes a chum out of the previous night's dinner through my regulator. Then they tied me back to the side of the boat for the 3 hour trip back.

Worse day of my life and last time I went diving (I'd just reached dive master and up til then I'd been loving it).

Decorated my house from top to bottom.

I was in a Death Metal band in my teens called Morgue, we made one album then split up. I was lead singer/growler and I wrote the lyrics which were pretty sick/super offensive. I've started making a new Morgue album, writing the most puerile and offensive lyrics I can think of and screaming them over a wall of guitars and thumping drums.

I've not posted anything up yet. I'm a bit unsure about posting it because the lyrics are seriously dodgy, I set out to write the most objectionable lyrics as I could. One song is about a pizza delivery bloke who has the virus on a death wish who coughs over every pizza he delivers. I rhyme Coughing with Coffin. There's another song about buying corpses from a care home and turning them into takeaway meals, "Grandmas aplenty/piled out the back/ I could them into/ a tasty snack"
