As I said earlier this year when the season ended and people had got excited and convinced themselves Lambert's "clauses" would mean he would leave..... Evans will not sack Lambert for at least another 2 years.
Evans has been cutting back continuously over the last 5 years, we are now operating in a world with even less income and uncertainty over when fans will be allowed back in. Unlikely to be back to 100% for at least another 18 months so why would he pay out significant compensation?
Nothing but essential spend (terminating a whole team of coaching staff on long term deals is not essential spend and then having to hire a new team) will not happen. Even if we are 15th at end of the season, continuity will be followed. |  | | |
