Why not Dyer as manager with gorgeous Mick as a real Director of Football?

Burley was seen as the dream ticket but he has been out of the game a long time. We know Mick is the masterful magician and he can work with Marcus. Kieron can learn off the master

I quite like the idea of Mick as DoF, but.... on 17:29 - Sep 1 with 2325 viewsBloots

....I think it's too early for Dyer as manager.

How about Mick as DoF and Mick as manager.

Just a thought.

Gerrard, Lampard, Parker. Burley was 38 when he took over here, KD is 42 this year.

I'll keep pushing Tommy Wright, look what he did at st Johnstone, yes I know its Scotland but I think he worked wondered.

KD, Shefqui would be a big risk, not that I'd be against either.... Burley had at least cut his teeth a little at Col U before moving here. Stein could still be thrown in the mix.

Pulis would be back to Micks style but would probabaly get us back up... see Warnock decided to stick around at Borough maybe we should have grabbed him when he had the chance.

Not many names that would get me excited.

Mick wouldn’t come back and some fans will protest against that idea even now. He is the past and he needs to stay there.

I agree...nothing really to lose in giving KD a go. I would prefer to see George as a DOF.

Mick was treated appallingly by (large) elements of our fanbase. There is no way he will come back. And who could blame him?

He wouldnt. No chance.

How about this as semi serious even if massively unlikely.

Burley - DoF
Magilton - Manager
Dyer - Assistant Manager

Anyone?

What has Dyer done remotely in first team managerial roles. He hasn’t even been in the back room staff of a first team job yet.

Let him go and learn the craft first, and one day I hope he manages us, I really do.

I don’t think we’re getting a DoF, either because Marcus doesn’t understand the need (Harry’s probably telling him it’s forrin nonsense) and likes getting involved in transfers etc. (It’s been going so well since he became more hands on...) or because he won’t pay a high salary to another football expert and only sees a need for a general manager. He seems to want his first team coach to manage the entire sporting side of the club from top to bottom and for many candidates these days, that seems to be far too big for them as it’s not the way the game is structured now. Mick worked for him for so long because he could do all of those things but left a massive void when he left - as he did in every other job he’s vacated.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

What had Scott Parker done before switching from Fulham U23 coach to managing Fulham to the PL ( apart from applying and not getting the job here )

A DoF generally sets the style of play throughout the club, from the youngsters to the first team. It is a good thing for the club to do that so players can move seamlessly up the groups.

For all that Mick did, saving us from relegation, keeping an underfunded squad reasonably competitive and even dragging it into the play-offs, I wouldn't want Mick's style to be Town's style for years to come.

Don't boil a kettle on a boat.

....and was then assistant 1st team coach at Fulham under both Jokanovic and Ranieri.

He was then caretaker manager, before being made full time manager.

A natural progression.

Thats easy

Bloots as DOF and you (Bluefish) as first team coach

Phil can be the press guy

Hoppy can do all the pouncey art stuff

Facters can be the club historian

Fixed can be youth team scout

Romers can help with running training

Sitters can look after the kit

what on earth could go wrong

The jobs of Fulham and Ipswich are very very different. Parker was initially only caretaker as well.
