Not ideal against a bunch of 12 year olds. The under 21 sides generally have an abysmal record in this competition.

Don't worry, we'll pinch it with a couple of late goals after the Arsenal lads have had to go to bed.

Considering our B-Team beat Spurs kids with ease last season but basically our first team is being mugged off by a bunch of Arsenal's backup kids is worrying stuff.

We'll finish 11th.

I am not having a meltdown, my prediction has always been between 7th and 11th because we're just not very good. Tonight is further proof of that fact.

I'd be less bothered if we'd made eleven changes; as it is I'm concerned that, with just three, we're at best inconsistent - turning up for one match then failing miserably against a side who we should be better than.

While under normal competitive conditions, you would expect a bunch of seasoned pros to beat a bunch of kids, with no crowd etc & a relatively unimportant competition you can see how it's possible that the pros don't play at full intensity so it then pays into the hands of the kids as it becomes like a practice game. At least we can't moan that Lambert made 11 changes!

It’s fair to say our guys just aren’t giving it the same as Saturday and also we have had a fair few chances tonight. Not gonna read anything into it. No fans, they know it isn’t important and that will be making a difference.

With 4 1/2 days till truly competitive game on Sunday, I'm guessing they're holding themselves back somewhat.

I don't get Lambert's thought process for this one. Why not play a different eleven who would show some fight and be less likely to look to protect themselves for Sunday? As it is we're seemingly burning through quite a few players who will be expected to play against Wigan too.

He's gone from one extreme to the other.
