Neil Rimmer? on 15:02 - Oct 10 with 2465 views | ParisBlue | Played a few games at the beginning of John Duncan's first season. Scored a few goals including a brace vs Man City then strangely disappeared. Decent career in the lower divisions though with Wigan.

The two goals against City were beauties. One from 30 yards. Good little player.

No, he was signed from Everton a couple of years earlier. Played in the same team as Lowe.

David Lowe was a great signing by John Duncan. 80k and out best player for two years before he got a really bad injury thanks to Chris Whyte. Kevin Beattie was a big fan of Lowe.

Especially when you remember that we signed Neil Woods in that same summer for circa £120,000.

Rimmer was a great little player. Lowe used to train my team when I was at Needham before they were really good :-)

Before Lowe's injury I remember a BBC national commentator saying 'If Ian Wright and Mark Bright are worth millions, however much is David Lowe worth?' This was when W and B were playing against us for Crystal Palace.

Somehow exchanged my i-Follow commentary from Suffolk for Radio Lancs for the last twenty mins of the first half. Manic and misinformed, though gave credit where due. Pleased to get the more measured Brenner back for second half.

I was reading the Blackpool forum - apparently the commentators thought Edwards' first goal had gone wide?

That would be Peter Slater, ex-BBC Radio 2 and 5 live reporter. And ex-Radio Orwell. I actually remember listening to that exact match report after Lowe scored the winner in a 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park. The Duncan era had some great moments.

Yes that was a funny moment, took the commentator a good few seconds to realise it was a goal even though all the town players were celebrating! They were an extremely biased commentary team every time a Blackpool player went down they were claiming it should've been a foul. The co-commentator repeatedly said they gifted us the 3 goals in the first half? Also he kept calling Garbutt Garbell! They were so bad it was funny! [Post edited 11 Oct 2020 8:03]
