It’s obvious from all the people against me on here, hate Paul Lambert, the Tory government, and any differing opinion other than their own. It’s full of rabid socialists , who won’t allow anybody their own opinions. I have been called so many names I can’t count.
I respect your right to express but to be totally really rude and aggressively opposed to debate is wrong.
I respect your right to say what you want , being called a see you next Tuesday is wrong, even if you disagree and told to go forth and multiply. Get a grip. We live in a democracy, not a Stalinist state, where we are told to just shut up and be shot. I take your views on board and understand.

Not all and sundry just scientists who make whopping predictions and shut the country dow. They made one in March saying half a million would die? What happened there. Now it’s even more worrying . As most hospitality and airports and airlines will now fail . I have lost my job and many other colleagues.

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost you job and I hope the you find something suitable as quickly as possible.

I don't however think that means you can post things which are totally untrue. You are taking figures totally out of context. If there was no shutdown then that could have happened.

You might not agree at this time but it's important to be truthful and present evidence for your opinions.

How would you have felt if I had posted a year ago that people shouldn't fly as because you are going so fast it reduces your lifespan? It's total nonsense but it's an opinion and one that you should have challenged me on had it happened because it's false and without evidence.

Good luck with your job search and hopefully you'll get something soon.

I think it is natural that you, along with others who have lost their jobs, are going to be feel quite resentful towards the restrictions which have been put in place and feel like they’re having an unnecessarily large impact on your life, especially if you do not know of anyone who has suffered badly with, or passed away due to, Covid. However, that doesn’t mean that the data modelling is incorrect or that the threat is being over-exaggerated. One issue is the approach from those in power is so dismissive at times to the regulations that have been put in place that it is understandable that some may wonder whether it is serious as being presented (see Dominic Cummings and Margaret Ferrier) plus the regulations themselves can be unclear and, in some cases, non-sensical.

The sooner this can be controlled the sooner a sense of normality will return; unfortunately that does mean tough decisions will be made and the socialisation aspect of human behaviour will be put on the back burner. The government does need to do more to assist those who are struggling financially due to the restrictions, including the loss of their job, and I hope you are able to find employment again very soon.

No-one's stopped your free speech, as evidenced by the fact you're still posting this utter nonsense.

When everyone's disagreeing with your view, might it be pertinent to wonder if it's not because this board is full of Stalinist rabid socialists, but rather because you've got something wrong?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

It’s not a matter of telling people to shut up if they disagree. It’s more a matter of debating fact and being able to argue a point with evidence.

Right wing populism has infected the world through the rise of misinformation, so it’s no surprise you’ve struggled to get your point across based on, ya know, political lies from Dear Leader.

The Stalinist state nonsense is pure projection. I’m technically a criminal in the eyes of the government just for supporting and attending eco protests - Another battle the right seem to think is about culture wars and oppressing their right to live rather than basing it on the fact if we don’t change how society works we won’t have one anymore in the next half century.

Your right to hate immigrants ain’t gonna save you from crop shortages.

O’ Brian nailed it.

Rather than getting upset perhaps read what’s being said, factor it into your own views and assess them?

I'm about to lose my job, and I don't personally know anyone who's suffered with or died from Covid, but I still respect the science, and thus the restrictions.

It's the people who aren't taking this seriously who piss me off the most and who I blame for me losing my job, because their idiocy and flippancy is what's prolonging this and ultimately crippling the economy.

Exactly and the Welsh First Minister agrees with you:

"My main message to people in Wales will be that, whatever the rules are after November 9, please don’t spend your time obsessing about the rules and asking how far you can stretch them. We will only get through this if each one of us asks not what can I do, but what should I do? If we do that, avoid company, travel as little as we can, work from home wherever possible, then we have a path out of this together."

Sorry to here about your job Dollers, I hope you find something soon and welcome back :).

I've never understood this, how do you shout someone down on a forum? The idea of shouting someone down is that they can't respond. They can't shout you down when you can reply.

Often times people will respond negatively to ideas they disagree with. The more controversial the viewpoint, the more people will respond in the community you're in. I'd argue that (barring a few personal issues) people like Glassers and Bully despite being right wing didn't get these reactions because they were sensible in what they were saying.

I'd agree that this forum probably swings vaguely left, but I'd hardly call it "strong leftist" outside of a few posters.

For example, it looks as if the people who the OP is talking to are people like Stokie, who isn't exactly a Commie.

Unfortunately, there are those on here who think this forum is their own private what’s app group for them and their mates. They see anyone with different views as a threat to their monopoly and therefore abuse them to try and get them to leave. It’s a shame, really.

You've said this at least 3 times on 3 different threads over the last 24 hours and it remains as untrue now as when you first said it.

If you spent as much time justifying your positions with evidence rather than moaning about other people then perhaps you wouldn't have this viewpoint and you wouldn't get as much stick as you do.

The bullying accusations are wearing a little thin.

I don't know what you have said, what was said in any other thread etc. Nor do I get involved or have any vested interest in politics.

But, in my opinion there is a little group on here who do seem to throw their toys out of the pram when someone is opposed to their opinion, and just instantly revert to hopping on the back foot with needless jibes. Can make it a tedious place at times, it what in reality should be a great place for fellow Town fans to come together.

Like I said, it's not opinions that cause the conflict but lack of facts/evidence. You can have an opinion that Norwood is better that Messi but you'll get called out on it because the evidence doesn't support it.
