It’s obvious from all the people against me on here, hate Paul Lambert, the Tory government, and any differing opinion other than their own. It’s full of rabid socialists , who won’t allow anybody their own opinions. I have been called so many names I can’t count.
I respect your right to express but to be totally really rude and aggressively opposed to debate is wrong.
I respect your right to say what you want , being called a see you next Tuesday is wrong, even if you disagree and told to go forth and multiply. Get a grip. We live in a democracy, not a Stalinist state, where we are told to just shut up and be shot. I take your views on board and understand.

"I don't care what ****** said" - what I meant by that is I don't know what he said, it's nothing to do with me, I didn't mean that as he can say what he likes at it's ok, I just didn't know what was said.

If he has said the things you have suggested, I think they aren't needed, disturbing, insensitve, and very poor from airliner if true.

I've had work a work colleague who's mother passed from Covid, another in hospital for a period of time, I wouldn't dream of being insensitive to them.

I think my point is being misconstrued a little, I'm not defending this OP in particular, merely stating there is a problem with certain posters on here who don't like it when someone's opinion is different to their own, and often turn to personal insults. It's a shame really, should be a friendly place where ITFC fans come together.

Have a look at Bloots' previous post, summed up what my point was trying to be perfectly. No need for you to get angry or worked up.

"It's a shame really, should be a friendly place where ITFC fans come together."

Agree, they should. And they could start by not making insulting comments about people dying not mattering, because it doesn't affect them directly.

Nor making sanctimonious posts about other posters when they clearly no idea what has been said or taken place because they haven't bothered to look and just need felt the need to tag along at the end to have their say.

"I don't know what this is about, but I'm going to have my say anyway."

If there was ever an example of someone's opinion not being valid.

Because whilst he is obviously unhappy about something, I don't know what has happened, like I said it has nothing to do with me.

A small part of his rant about their being a problem with certain posters who don't like it when someone differs in opinion to them is unfortunately true in my opinion. Hence why I commented with my opinion.

"Not everyone is equal and not every opinion is equal." - That's a very dangerous and silly thing to say.

If you don't know everything airliner's said you should probably educate yourself before commenting. You don't just judge Hitler on his ability to paint clouds.

Airliner has been directly affected. He has lost his job and is understandably angry at the lock down measures that have resulted in him losing his job.

Not sure the forum would benefit from the addition of posters into anti-contraception and abortion, misuse of funds, poor medical treatments and religious evangelism personally

Who are we to call out other peoples opinions or views, we are no better nor worse than anyone else on here, you get the sense that some people on here may think they are better than others, or maybe because they've been posting a little longer should seen as the face that runs the place.

We can differ in opinions to people, we don't need to nasty to other people because of it.

You may be under a different username now, but you've been around long enough.

Have I specifically outlined that I was defending or excusing this airliner for anything they had said... no I don't think so.

You're missing my point a little, there is no issue with not seeing someone's opinion in the same way, but just say 'I don't agree with that because....xyz', instead of turning to vile and vulgar personal insults, which is problem on here and commonly leads to posters temming well away from the point they were debating in the first place.

Anyway, we clearly aren't singing from the same hymm sheet, so we'll leave this one here

Yeah but he didn't call anyone a rude name so it's all A-OK!

The important thing now apparently isn't what you're actually saying, but not being rude apparently.

That has been Paz's exact argument for weeks now, and I've seen it start to creep in to the posts of other people who are posting some dubious stuff. I don't think anyone serious is actually buying it though right?

No it's just you.

It's obvious what the new play is.

Step one) Post something that the vast majority of people object to. This could be because it is offensive, lacks any basis in reality, can't be backed up with evidence.

Step two) Ignore any replies that challenge your post. Refuse to engage with any questions or evidence presented.

Step three) Reassert original point enough times so that people begin to lose their rag with you.

Step four) Make the claim that the forum is an echo chamber and that it's full of intolerance.

Step five) Reassert original point even more times so that people really lose their rag with you.

Step six) Flounce off complaining that there was no need to be rude.

Repeat, For weeks and weeks and weeks.

In order to challenge someone's views you need to actually have a position which makes sense and is supported by evidence.

Your posts look like a poorly implemented random post generator.

Basically Putin's hacking squad allocated agents to different social media networks and online forums to foment division and spread misinformation.

Back in the day TWTD was a top 500 UK website by traffic, and we were allocated an excellent intelligence officer with a very good grasp of English, codename CIL, who posted Russia Today links and questioned everything.

Now we've been relegated to Division One, traffic has slowed down, Brexit is all but done and there's a US election on.

So we get airliner.

There is certainly a group on here who are staunch anti-Tory, anti-lambert and anti Donald Trump. That is all ok, it’s their opinion. However I don’t like how they all jump upon anyone with a differing opinion to theirs.

I’m not going to name the posters, but they all seem to jump in on the same threads together.
It makes the forum very unpleasant.

Probably shouldn't get dragged into this, but how do you solve that?

Have a limit on people disagreeing per thread? The whole point of a forum is that anyone can reply.

Where have they belittled people’s deaths exactly?

I think the OP definitely has an irrational point of view, however I think the reason for that became clear when they revealed they’ve lost their job as a result. You may be coping ok with that but everyone is different and I can certainly see why others might not, particularly if they haven’t seen any first hand evidence of the reason. With the nature of modern social media it’s pretty easy to see how one can end up down this sort of rabbit hole

By all means people can address where they’re wrong but as usual there are a number of posters that have just mocked them and given abuse. And in some cases continuing to do so even after they’ve highlighted the impact it’s had on them - which is pretty low quite frankly

Whoever the OP is gets to nominate one combatant per side, plus a wildcard centrist. It could be fun, like Celebrity Deathmatch.

We could even run argument leagues, or do something like the US and Europe do in golf.
