Vaccine priority List 10:21 - Dec 2 with 25836 viewsitfcpaul

Just been published and looks like the majority of us won't get it for months, maybe even after Spring at the earliest, looks like a long haul to get this vaccine to everyone, that's even if we can get 120 million that we need.....

And on a football note, please Mr. Lambert will you leave our club

All the best, Debsy. Lots of people have quite pronounced anxiety symptoms as a result of being in this heightened state of alert for so long. Although you may be socially distanced, you are not on your own!

I've found myself retreating to a state of almost permanent lockdown. I have to go out twice a week for essential work tasks, so do that. I live and work in the highest transmission rate area of a city, and work with a lot of vulnerable people. My wife works in a Primary School, and my son who lives with us is working in a Supermarket. Their risk exposure is very high. I am quite ambivalent about getting Covid myself, but very anxious about being the one who passes it on to a vulnerable person. I've turned down offers to meet up for coffee with colleagues.

I am now taking high dose Vitamin D, as I live in Edinburgh and have become a shut-in, so see little sun. I had been taking Multi Vitamins, because Vitamin D deficiency was identified as a key factor in Covid complications VERY early on, but a friend pointed out that the dose of Vitamin D in those may be fine to supplement an average person in Spring or Summer in England, but not a recluse in winter in Scotland! It has made a difference to the degree of anxiety that I am feeling. It's the one simple thing that we all can do to make a difference to our chances of survival if we do contract the virus.

We finally bit the bullet and booked a holiday abroad for June 2021. I'm just hoping we are vaccinated by then. Worst case scenario is that the appointment for the first vaccination falls just before we go, and then the second is due during the holiday dates.

With regards to Vitamin D, check out a chap called Dr john Coleman, he's on YouTube etc and he has been talking up the benefit of Vit D for months now.

Hope you are OK through this, my lovely wife is really suffering with this, she struggles with MH issues and seizures etc and this has really caused her issues to get worse, so was hoping it would be sorted well before now but obviously looks like its going to be another 6 months at least before we have some normaility

if you ever need to talk, shout, scream or just generally vent, this board is a great place to do it, you will get lots of support, if you need to speak to someone a little less public drop me a PM

Same here. Love him. He has kept me sane. So many love predicting the worst case scenario so it's been nice to listen to someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

he is a breath of fresh air and reasonableness throughout all this and highlighted really early on the benefit of Vitamin D when even CDC's in US who did loads of work into it said it had no benefit

Found him by accident on there but one of my guilty pleasures of the viewing world I live in currently

Thanks very much Arnold. I so hope you and your family will be safe and that you can get on that holiday of yours! I have been taking Vitamin D3 since August when a blood test showed I was deficient in it. Can't say seen much difference in my aches and pains and tight chest, but think its more of a bone protector? I take a multivitamin every day too. I hardly ever go out at the moment - a long walk once a fortnight, and town once a week to do essential shopping but constantly feel scared. If only people kept their distance! It is so unlike me to want to stay in all the time and just hope next year I can resume meeting up with family, friends and going to football/gigs. Take care

Quite. I'm in cat 4, and what struck me is that if the protection only lasts (say) 6 months, us cat 4 people might have been better off being lower down the list & getting vaccinated in early Autumn to ensure protection over winter, rather than getting vaccinated in Spring with the lesser risk of summer ahead.

Unless the point is recognised & autumn "top-ups" appropriate & available of course.

You should be fine - they have their test group months ahead of when you will be vaccinated so if it becomes an issue they will have plenty of notice to find a suitable top up or revaccination so i can't see that becoming an issue thankfully.

I must admit the only thing I am missing throughout all this is football and gigs, haven't been to one for ages, we have a number lined up for 2021 in the hope they can still go ahead, we had a Midge Ure one booked for 19th December, socially distanced, of course, but that has now been moved to early 2021, fingers crossed we can get to see music live again....

Sixth (I assume) due to asthma.

Lots of people saying this is going to take ages to roll out. As GB says, if the Oxford vaccine gets approval it will move a lot quicker.

Did you maybe post it as a football thread rather than a general one? That's usually why Phil or Gav edit them.

I agree but when you listen to Boris and Matt they do seem to forget to be realistic about telling people that, it's all about its been approved, it's here, next few weeks etc

Johnson has been a complete car crash, the worst possible leader in a crisis, but pretty sure he’s never said this, he even said at PMQs today not get your hopes up about being vaccinated soon. He has to hold that line otherwise his brexit/covid recovery group loons will be back on the rampage.

Hancock being owned too, with his Brexit rhetoric

What's even sadder is that his briefing will have covered this issue, and he instead chose to lie.
