I appreciate it's not the weather for it... 16:28 - Jan 11 with 1134 views | clive_baker | But I can't remember the last time I saw a neighbour outside his or her home cleaning the car. Has it completely died out now, are we all too lazy?

Likewise. The pressure washer comes out sometime around June/July and then gets put away for another year. I like to keep on top of these things.

I appreciate it's not the weather for it... on 17:39 - Jan 11 with 711 views | gordon | Only time I've ever cleaned a car was when I took my Vauxhall Cavalier into the car wash at the petrol station to see what it was like (bored teenager) and didn't know you had to push the wing mirrors in. I sat in the car wash and watched one wing mirror, then the other, get pinged off. Afterwards I picked up the bits and gaffer taped them back on. Great times.

I once pulled up at a furniture store just behind the garage on Tayfen Road, Bury, to say hi to the friends who ran it, only to find 3 of them falling about all over the place outside. I could barely get any sense from any of them, there were tears of absolute joy. Apparently just before I'd pulled up some bloke had parked his car inside the car wash and walked back out to put the token in the meter. Instead of just doing it through the window on the way in as normal. He'd then proceeded to try to get back into his car as the wash was already starting itself up. They said he was trying to open his door and one of the rollers had him trapped and kept slapping him around the face. He's there getting drenched and each time he tried to turn back the other way he was getting slapped. They said he finally sort of managed to crawl out covered in all suds.. I was gutted I'd missed it.

I appreciate it's not the weather for it... on 18:05 - Jan 11 with 634 views | strikalite | Neighbour spends 3 hours cleaning his car, even the numbers plates come off, his garage is full of products, he took it for a service a while back, highlighted all the parts that needed changing with a highlighter pen ,oh he's thorough, I said to him "they clean it too for you don't they?"...to which he replied whilst ringing out the shammy leather "yeah, but not to my standards"..
