It’s not just how badly he has managed us in the time that we have been in League One, it’s the gaslighting about the performances that is really grating.

I’m not sure why he isn’t being challenged about his comments which are clearly ridiculous when he is being interviewed

I think the local press have given up with him. They know he'll just straight up lie, obfuscate and bluster and just can't be arsed with his bullsh1t.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Paul Lambert is well capable of forcing a melt down with the media and the supporters. Possibly hoping Evans will have to act by terminating his contract so he can enjoy the pay-out.
What must be going through Evans mind right now ?

One man sees it and simply doesn't care.

He's a bare minimum man, a football club hobby on his multi-million pound portfolio. A footnote on his main website.

Until Evans has gone, we will continue to decline.

Yes, well that is rather what's happened over the last few months, isn't it? No really long run of losses which would make a decision inevitable.

It’s quite clear to anyone that this current arrangement is going nowhere, why wait for an even worse bad run, we haven’t won back to back games in months and are meant to be challenging for promotion.

What’s your personal opinion on Evans and how he’s running the club?

By the the time he does go it'll be too late. Such a shambles of a club

I think things are coming to a head, couple of people said to me today we're entering the endgame, the outcome of these three games, today, Sunderland and Crewe, being crucial for PL's survival.

It’s frustrating to think that Evans could be swayed by the next two results... again!

If he’s willing to sack him (financially speaking) next weekend, he should have been gone weeks ago. The vitriol across the fan base is getting exponentially worse with each game (win, lose or draw). Hard to see any results this week changing that, largely because their/our issues with Lambert are not just about results anymore.

Evans’ approach to running this club at the moment is utterly baffling.

It's bizarre to think that Evans could be watching that team play and then watching Lambert's interview afterwards and coming to the conclusion that Lambert is going to turn the situation around.

It’s just mad isn’t it?

They all just spout absolute nonsense, surely they can’t think anyone buys it? Taylor said something about how it had been good to have a rare midweek off to prepare properly for the game. We’ve played on one Tuesday night in the last 8 weeks ffs.

OMG, I just SO hope you are right with this view Phil.

But for me the problem goes much, much deeper at this Club. The infrastructure seems diseased to the core. Hurst got that bit right didn’t he!

We need Evans to sell up to someone that has real desire , ambition and understanding of how to re build this Club, and possess the ability to get the infrastructure right. Evans is devoid of any idea how to achieve this and as long as he is owner, we will bounce from one disaster to another. I genuinely now fear for the mere existence of this once great club.

Nero’s fiddling again then. A new manager bounce could see us win some of those games, why waste them on this busted flush?
It makes no football sense whatsoever - which of course is why we’re doing it...

That's madness though.

Unless interviews are underway and he wanted to announce someone straight after PL goes it's pointless to give him another two games.

I can handle one more embarrassment on national TV, a thumping on Tuesday and that should be the end. He shouldn't get the opportunity to kick the can with a result against Crewe.

Stability is one of the points in Evans’ worthless 5 point plan isn’t it. He’s stubbornly sticking to that despite the obvious damage being done. It’s nothing short of a disaster for us. He’s got no idea.

We’ve always backed managers with time - apart from Hurst - unfortunately for Evans, none of his choices have responded to the benefit of being given time like Robson or Burley did.
Mick McCarthy never needed time. He needed money. Which Evans didn’t give him and so pi553d away the one period when we were competitive under him.

It’s truly gobsmacking what a poor job Evans’s other choices have made of managing us. None of them even managed mediocrity - just decline lapsing into utterly horrific runs of results.

What an abject failure we’ve been since 2009 and no signs of it turning around under these leaders/squad.

Exactly what I was thinking. Utterly bonkers to wait any longer if they have already started thinking that.

To be blunt, if they haven't worked out that it isn't working after 2 years of failure, then I really struggle to see what fundamentally changes that in the next 2 games.

Especially in the context that the transfer window is about to close!

I think most would agree that we already have the squad in place for anyone with any managerial talent to take advantage of. It would be nice to give a new manager some time to get players in but it's not really our main problem.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Kind of makes sense, half-way through the season, trouble is, we could well be 16 points off top 2 by then, and the new manager gets Blackpool at home, then Posh away in the first few days to start the turn-around.

I'd be very happy if this is the case, but I think we're then looking at play-offs rather than top 2 - fine if whoever comes in gets us beating top 6 sides of course.
