Professional pride was proffered by the interviewer as was belief you canturn it round. Lambert mumbled in agreement to both and said you always have that belief. Was coughing quite a bit too.

Classic case of a journalist/interviewer almost being good at their job.

Though "what's keeping you here?" is not a regular question to a failing manager. Phrased like that it almost suggests that, knowing Lambert is a name of sorts, the reporter is excusing him for having been placed in this position with such poor resources at his disposal- and wondering if there's not something better he could be expected to move on to. Sounds absurd, I know, but unless the reporter was a rookie, it's otherwise a bizarre way to question a manager that you know most supporters are just waiting to be shown the door.

All credit to the reporter for asking questions that Brenner does not

If that's the case there is no point in an after match interview at all.

That's true of most football interviews. They're a formality.

That was my point, but more succinctly put. The original question was a strange one. [Post edited 27 Jan 2021 10:08]

Looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Seemed very humble in front of the Sky interviewer, and couldn't get away with the usual nonsensical bluster he feeds Brenner or Stuart.
